"Having lived in the Lake District for 8 years I’ve only ever been to Baha for drinks. I’ve always wanted to try their food so I went last night (9th of October). The way the food is described on the menu is certainly inviting and everything sounded delicious. I chose the bubble bobble jumbo red shrimp. when this arrived at the table I was not expecting a bowl of chips with 4/5 battered prawns on top of them. but I thought okay presentation not great but it might taste okay. The shrimp was flavourless. The chips were nice but on the menu it states it comes with torched lime and black and white sesame seeds. Which neither of these were to be seen. I did not realise this until I left. Anyways, I expressed to the waitress that for the price of this it’s not really worth the money. And she replied “this is the Lake District, it’s expensive here”. Which I am fully aware of I don’t expect a cheap meal in the lakes. But why should that make the quality less? She apologised and looked me up and down like what I was saying was outrageous I work in the hospitality trade myself and have done for many years so I always like to give FOH staff the benefit of the doubt as I know it’s a hard job dealing with the public. The gentleman in the white shirt was very pleasant and his customer service was excellent. The girl however could do with some lessons on how to speak to people . Anyways, I feel like I’ve been cheated out of £80 for poor quality food. I hope you will take these comments into consideration"

The venue is very quirky staff very attentive the venue itself. It’s only a short walk from the lakes. Food was lovely visit again soon

Got stung with additional drinks added to the bill which we didn't have or order, in addition I went to the bar to get the drinks and they added a service charges ?

Booked to have a family meal on Sunday 12th November. We all had Sunday lunch and we were not disappointed at all. The service was amazing as was the food. We had a fantastic time. Thank you so much Voir le carte

Quiet time of year so no problem turning up without a booking. Prompt service. Good food ordered 3 small plates to share, beautiful! Great vibe and lovely decor. Bonus was staying at the Cranleigh Hotel and getting 15% discount!

Really enjoyed my evening at Baha Bowness, very nice place. They had introduced a new menu on the night we went which tasted unbelievable, however the portion sizes were too small in my opinion and wasn't worth what I paid. Apart from that very good experience

Had an enjoyable night here. The food was really tasty and the service was really good, everyone was very friendly. I'd say this is more a family friendly place than a romantic venue but didn't stop us having a good time! Plus we'd definitely come back with the kids of we're in Bowness again Voir le carte

This place is done nicely, very bougie. There is a bar downstairs and a restaurant upstairs, the staff were really friendly and even got me a birthday card. The food wasn’t anything special though, we thought this was going to be fine dining but it was more like TGI Fridays. I’d come back to the bar but I wouldn’t eat in the restaurant again.

The menu had clear gluten free labeling, but the staff seemed uninformed about gluten free food. When we inquired about a glaze that might contain soy sauce, they were unable to confirm and weren't familiar with tamari or gluten free soy sauce. The food itself was not impressive, overly sweet and ultimately disappointing. We ended up leaving most of it uneaten.
