"I chose to take my wife here for Valentine’s Day I had already read previous reviews so I knew there was no menu to choose fromOn arrival we was met with a friendly attitude and had a choice of tablesWe was unsure of exactly what dishes we would get we was asked if we like fish but we said no for starters we were given Parma ham which was absolutely delicious followed by tagliatelle Bolognese which is one of the best I have ever tasted then we had a further course presented to us of ravioli which again was deliciousThen came the confusing part we thought that was it so with a language problem we was asked if we wanted deserts so we said yes and had deserts we then realised all of the dishes had not been presented so I opted to have a further course of ravioli then a extremely delicious prawn dish came out followed by the speciality of a suckling pig all of these meals were absolutely faultless the service was exceptional with a lot of humour which we enjoyed some people may be put off by that but each to their ownI would say this is one of the best restaurants I have ever visited with exceptional food we also had a bottle of wine, a Pepsi and Our bill was £80For the amount of courses we had this was excellent value for money we would definitely visit again we ended up sitting with a few other couples towards the end of the night which just made the night complete and made new friendsAs the previous reviews have said just arrive sit back and enjoy you will not be disappointed"

"I never really write reviews but after my experience here I had to! my husband and I came here on a whim on a Tuesday as most pubs around the area are not open on this day which left us bummed out and hungry. was surprised to walk in and have a lovely young lady named Tara to come to take us on for lunch. the pub did seem a little short-staffed for the number of people in the establishment but she handled it great regardless and still greeted everyone with a big smile and had good knowledge of the beers on draft such as the 2 local ales which I was very impressed by. even offering 'tasters ' before we bought a pint. she even took the time to talk to us, asking about how our week had gone and made us feel very comfortable whilst dining here. the food was great, can not fault it in the slightest, wish we could 've had room for pudding! The only thing I would say is that it does look like more staff is needed as the poor lady did seem to be doing everything, taking and bringing out food and drink our as well as ensuring all customers are happy but all in all was very smooth and food was brought out in about 20-30 minutes which we couldn 't complain at! I would definitely visit again just to experience such great service, we were told that other days of the week they do offer a larger menu as Tuesdays unfortunately, is a limited menu and I would be eager to try the haddock scotch egg which the waitress spoke about."

"We've often eaten here and had excellent food and service. Until this week. We booked for lunch and our waitress organised drinks very promptly before taking our order. I asked for scampi with a salad, avoiding chips and we also asked for garlic bread to share. When our food arrived, I had scampi and chips with a bowl of salad and no sign of the garlic bread. The waitress suddenly realised I hadn't ordered chips but I said that was OK as my husband would eat them. Despite reminding her about the garlic bread, it never arrived. Our waitress was quiet and efficient, and busy with new arrivals as the restaurant began to fill. We eventually decided it was pointless asking about the garlic bread and finished the meal with tiramisu. The bill duly arrived and in the absence of garlic bread, she offered to take off the service charge. We decided, as the majority of the meal had been fine, to ask for only half of it to be deducted. I think my main problem was with the manager. Although he was there, he didn't deal with any of this problem. He seemed to be fine with going around the tables and chatting to regular customers, but in the matter of the missing garlic bread and the chips I had not ordered, he left the waitress to deal with the problem and didn't even look at us when we left. In many places we have eaten, the manager will normally speak to customers and not leave his staff to face an unhappy diner. Popular eateries don't only rely on their food, their service is just as important, and unfortunately it felt as if no one really cared. Sadly we've eaten our last meal there and won't be coming back."
