"We had visited Stone Henge for the day, it was late, the kids were hungry and tired and all the chain restaurants we had tried to get into were fully booked. I was stressing out and this restaurant saved the day! They were able to...accommodate us at extremely short notice. We were a large party of of those small kids. We were so thankful and pleased to come here. They don’t do a kids menu. The kids can have anything off the menu, just a smaller portion which I liked as kids can sometimes get a poor deal with the usual chicken nuggets and fish fingers as options. All the food was delicious: pizzas and pastas. Although I had to agree with other reviews, the service is a little slow. (This wouldn’t have bothered me if I hadn’t have had the tired kids with us). There is also free car parking at the back."

"This is my 'go-to ' cafe/coffee shop in Marlborough. I 'm even prepared to queue in the rain for a table, it 's that good! The coffee is superb, the cakes divine and the food is freshly prepared and delicious. It’s nearly always busy so, at times, service can take a little longer. The staff are great and do their best to keep up with demand. If you’re in Marlborough and want somewhere great to have breakfast, brunch (dinner on Friday and Saturday evenings) or coffee and cake, this is the place."

"Have wanted to visit for some time and we recently had an opportunity. We visited for breakfast and really enjoyed our visit. I had the 8 item Full English which was great and my wife had pancakes and maple syrup. Her only problem was she didn’t have much maple syrup as I think they were running short. Service was excellent and really friendly. Excellent value for money. We will visit again when the opportunity arises. We mentioned our visit to our daughter who lives in Amesbury and she then went the next day with her husband. She also thought the pancakes were excellent. All in all we would recommend visiting."

"We’ve been using this restaurant for a number of years now and have never been disappointed. Having been lucky enough to live in Naples previously we were delighted to find that the owner originated from there and it’s obvious when you taste the pizzas fresh, delicious and with generous sized toppings. "When I saw the menu on the wall with a selection of a long list of pizzas to choose from I already suspected that these people can cook. Tuscan style, family-owned restaurant, the sautéed prawn dish, the beef lasagna and the salad we tried were all beautifully flavoured, presented with care, satisfying and very tasty. I recommend the lemonade and the espresso, too. We were full to our ears. The owner is really nice, the place is cozy and feels authentic. Will definitely come back here."

"Went with my partner for BSB bikes wanted a nice meal we eat a lot of curry and this place is a no no starters seek kebabs hard chana purée no taste mains chicken curry hard chicken tarka dhal was blended in to a paste no flavour we asked for pilau rice with onions jeera and peas we got fried rice we asked for food to be spicy so they added loads of chilly so it was hot as your best bet is go to tescos or Wetherspoons for a curry meal was £75 and because we complained about the staters they knocked them of OMG it would have been £100 if your in the area please don’t be upset and just wait till you get home and go to your local where you know the food is good at a reasonable price"

"we went to breakfast mainly because it was the easiest way to care for the visiting children! there is a large parking space that makes the search for a place easy, there are also a lot of facilities close to like a co-op if they need a few bits. wifi is in the whole pub, as well as a few fruit machines. the access is easy without steps and a wide entrance. in the inner is quite spacious it was clean and well presented when we visited. the staff was friendly and friendly. we were a little disappointed to find that due to the supply problems pfannkuchen were from the menu along with some other items, but no fault for the staff or the facility here; it's just the situation. our server was very apologetic and friendly, we had a decent laugh with it about the situation. the food and service was decent I had the complete English breakfast I was very happy with. there were also vegan breakfast and vegetarian breakfast. the filter coffee was decent. because of this experience I would recommend a visit."

"I entered The New Inn, Salisbury, yesterday seeking retreat from the pouring rain and to meet my son after work. I was served at the bar by Harry. I sat on a lovely leather sofa with my book. Harry brought my drink to the table then proceeded to light the fire for me. I was very grateful for his thoughtfulness; the day was wet cold, and the fire was appreciated. My son and I spent a lovely two hours chatting and enjoying the atmosphere and warmth of this charming old pub with its beamed ceilings and large fireplace. I'd like to especially thank Harry who was welcoming, friendly and professional and helped to make my afternoon very enjoyable. I recommend The New Inn to everybody cosy in the winter, a lovely beer garden overlooking the cathedral Close on sunny days."

"Located in a fantastic restaurant space, this lively and focused seafood restaurant offers a delightful, fashionable, and delicious meal. The option of two plates and a side for £22 allowed us to try a total of 6 dishes. The waiter recommended a selection of tapas-style sharing plates, which paired perfectly with a Romanian Pinot Noir. We also indulged in two delicious desserts. A trip to this restaurant is definitely worth it, and the atmosphere created by the diners at other tables added to our own enjoyable dining experience."

"This is going to be a short one because if I tell you all the great things about this restaurant, it would be less a review than a book of Dickensesque proportions! A lovely restaurant in a lovely building in a lovely town. The staff are professional and friendly; we were certainly well looked after. The food is wonderful, traditional Italian fare for the most part, cooked to perfection, full of flavour, and beautifully presented. I can highly recommend the Linguine Ravello, a perfect amalgam of king prawns, muscles, et al, a fantastic seafood dish. The other dishes are perfection too. You like rich meaty lasagna? One of the best I have had. The ravioli of the day? A wonder whatever the filling. And don't get me started on the profiteroles! All in all, a constant delight. If you haven't guessed, this is highly recommended."

"We had a table booked for a lunchtime meal to celebrate our Wedding anniversary with our 2 children and we weren't disappointed. We were able to choose our own table and our drinks order was taken immediately. We also ordered 2 starters to share which were the Teriyaki Beef Vegetable Spring Roll and the Wild Mushroom Tortellini. Oh my days both dishes were absolutely delicious and we highly recommend.. For our mains we ordered two 10oz Rump Steaks, the Chicken Schnitzel with a Tomato Mascapone Sauce and the 10oz Rump Steak with half a rack of BBQ Ribs.. For dessert, the Rocky Road Cheesecake was ordered and all meals were ample and delicious. All meals were filling, delicious and were delivered in the appropriate time frame. We were so happy with the service and will definitely go back and try some of the other menu options."

"This was our 'local ' while we stayed at Thornhill 2 miles away. Unfortunately it was closed Monday Tuesday and didn 't do meals Sunday night so Wednesday night was our only option. That is a shame as we would probably have done 2 nights there and 2 nights at La Strada with hindsight.This pub is dog friendly very ! Dogs are welcomed and diners with dogs can sit where they like. The landlady is lovely chatty and friendly and very welcoming. It felt like we were regulars. Our starter was very slow coming and there had been a mix up, we didn 't complain but it was knocked off the bill. Amazing, we would never have asked for that. It was hummus, pitta bread and salad and nicely served and tasty.Mains: my husband had belly pork and mash which he declared to be superb. I had a chicken and mushroom pie as pies seem to be a speciality here. Well yes.... what a fabulous pie ! As tasty as it gets with chips, peas and a very tasty gravy. Absolutely yummy.As it was our last night I lashed out on a pudding and wow. The cherry creme brulee was the best I 've ever had served with amoretto ice cream and a shortbread biscuit. Divine !It was clear they were understaffed like so many places currently but staff rushed round doing their best.We live 130 miles away so can 't exactly pop back but if we could we most certainly would. If we had been there another 3 nights we would have eaten there 2 and 1 at La Strada which is close by. Definitely recommended if you are in the area of Royal Wootton Bassett or heading from Swindon to Avebury."

"The restaurant had a cozy and relaxing ambiance, and the staff was very attentive and friendly. I ordered a seafood risotto that was filled with mussels, king prawns, squid, and sea bass, all mixed with creamy and flavorful rice. "We take our 96yr Father here for a meal and have done for the last few months. The food has always been excellent the portion size is great great wholesome food well seasoned. The value for money is also excellent we do eat out quite a few times in this area around Warminster, Westbury and Frome however, we cannot find a venue to match let alone beat the quality of the food at the Royal Oak, nor the ambience and the owner customer service. Highly recommended and we look forward to eating our way through them menu mains and dessert; excellent."

"We felt like we were at home from the moment we arrived at this restaurant. The staff were friendly and eager to help, treating us and our dog like old friends. Lisa and Daniel provided exceptional service throughout our visit. The restaurant is equipped with facilities for both dogs and children, making it ideal for families. We are looking forward to returning with friends and their kids in the future. The spa facilities and treatments were excellent, and the view from the outdoor pool was magical. The rooms have a cozy charm and provide everything you could need, including incredibly comfortable pillows. This is the best dog and child-friendly restaurant we have ever visited, so it's a must if you're traveling with either. If not, consider booking during the week outside of school holidays for a more peaceful experience."

"Totally satisfied and highly recommending it. We arrived at 19:30 on a Friday night and was taken to the first floor as the ground floor is full. The atmosphere is great nice Thai style wooden chains, patterned placemats and painting on the wall, and most importantly relaxing music. I felt like I am in a nice Thai SPA room. The food is very nice and served with delicate dishes, bags and candle base. We had sticky rice and green curry with pork, which is spicy but definitely delicious yummy when mixed together. The starter combo including chicken satay, spring roll, prawn toast and stick fried prawn is hot and tasty, which are well suited on mixed vegetables that have been flavored with sweet sauce. We also had a Thai fried noodle with prawn which was so welcomed by kids. The iced milk tea is also great. Overall this is one of the best Thai cuisine we had in the UK and all the staff are very professional and kind. Highly recommend!"

"Called in for a drink a couple of months ago and was initially impressed- well kept beer, nice atmosphere, super-friendly landlord. On the basis of this, we returned for food, which seemed to be in the hands of the landlady/cook, rather than the landlord we'd previously met. What a contrast- whereas he's the perfect host, she appeared to be grumpy to the point of rudeness- more suited to running a back street takeaway than a country pub. We overlooked this hoping for good food, but the extensive menu was a giveaway that although this may have been home cooked at some point, most items were just reheated on demand. Very average considering what so many pubs are offering. Looking at the other customers, it feels like the Wooden Spoon relies on unadventurous OAPs wanting comfort food for its business- more nursing home than country pub."

"My husband had made a booking back in August 2021 for March 2022, however I (his wife) received an email stating that I had made a duplicate booking to which I expressed that although I had been looking at the rooms, I had not booked a further room to my knowledge. I then received an email to state that my husband’s reservation had been cancelled. I called to see what was happening as we still intended to stay at the weekend, however I unluckily got the Landlord CHRIS BRYETT. Whilst trying to explain what had happened, he kept talking over me and telling me to calm down! I was calm, I was just trying to articulate what had happened regarding the emails, but he had no intentions of listening to a woman! Calm and polite throughout I asked to speak to the Manager, he went away but then came back on the phone asking how he could help!! I reiterated that I wanted to speak to the manager and that’s when he told me he was the owner. No wonder he had to get investors in, with his attitude he was probably haemorrhaging money. As I wasn’t getting anywhere I had to end the call, especially at the moment he patronisingly call me 'DARLING '. In this day and age!!!! He needs to stop taking phone calls as he has ABSOLUTELY NO CUSTOMER SERVICE and his speak is archaic. Low and behold we cancelled the entire trip away here. Who wants to stay in a place where they treat you like this?!"
