"On our holiday we visited this place twice. The first visit we enjoyed and was seated in the courtyard. The service was very slow and we were placed on the corner table and we watched others come in after us and were served much quicker. They even had food ordered and delivered while we were still waiting to order! Other reviews I have read on here mentioned black stuff dropping on them. After two visits we can confirm, we all left with black charcoal like flecks over us, so do not wear anything light or precious! Even though the service was slow, we enjoyed the food, so we returned! What a mistake! Again we all had to turn and stare at the waiters to order! We were happy to be placed yet again in the courtyard on the corner table! This time we were ignored even more than before! We ordered two pasta dishes, one veal and a pizza! We ordered drinks and food at the same time finally after about 25 mins for fear of not being noticed again! The Carbonara was not as good as previously, the veal however was lovely! When the young waiter with glasses served us with our food and asked who had ordered what, he acted very oddly and rudely to me when I confirmed my dish! Almost in a way of having a joke but also insulting me! Obviously as a family, me and my fiancée and my parents were not impressed! Less so, that three of us received our dishes and waited for the fourth to be served which was pizza! As our dishes were going cold we started our main course! As I finished mine, my father went and asked about my fiancés pizza! No apologies just confirmed it would be 10 minutes! It arrived after we had all finished our main course with no apology or explanation by the rude insulting waiter. My fiancée luckily speaks fluent Italian and when he asked in Italian about the service he just wanted to let us know he had made my carbonara and ignored him and was acting very oddly again towards me! He was also shocked to learn my partner spoke Italian after the first rude incident, realising we understood exactly what he was saying! The worst service ever! Finally he did apologise in Italian but as my partner knows in a very disrespectful way in the Italian language! We went again as we enjoyed our first visit, even though service was slow and we were ignored! But after tonight’s visit, my advice is their are plenty of other restaurants that have fab food, fab service, they even compliment my fiancée for speaking fluently in Italian in Vico Equense! We know Italians do not have the same customer service skills and expectations as in the UK, however we could only comment positively about other local establishments on food, service, and their restaurants as a whole that are also good value for money! Don’t let this place give you a bad impression of the others restaurants, in our opinion give this one a wide berth and enjoy your visit with the many others available"

"Man..I don't know if it was the ocean air, being so far away from home, the romantic backdrop but this was hands down one of the best meals I've had in Italy ; The location is tucked away inside a boutique hotel, Capo La Gala highly recommend staying here. Incredible view of the endless ocean. The service was spot on. Funny note apparently they give the women menus without pricing and the men menus with pricing. I've never experienced that before. Not that it mattered. The food was amazing, apéritifs were fun little spoonfuls of amazingness. Crostini with prosciutto and a fried zucchini chip, arancini which is essentially fried risotto balls, and raw white fish with crunchy onion on top. Each dish had an excellent play on textures which I'm a huge fan of. Fish filet was perfectly cooked with the skin crisped up. Husband had the tenderloin with shaved truffles on top. Pallet cleanser of a light panna cotta was served as well. The desserts were playful and creative. I had a chocolate torte with a hazelnut cookie base and edible gold leaf. We also had a spicy sorbet which was tucked inside a light cake. Interesting and good. It sounded so odd ball we had to order it. The meal was memorable, food was plated and prepared with immaculate precision. I'm sure my description of the dishes don't do it justice. The cost? I think it was $300? give or take. Worth it? YES. You only live once..and as my mother would say you can't take your money with you."
