"We came to see Coda, but ended up with Letz Zep our first visit to this little pub. The food was ok and the event itself was reasonable even though it was raining and the tents leaked plus the lead singer should have given up a long time ago ! Whlie I initially liked the village pub feel almost like my own village so the wobbly tables and broken bits I just viewed as quirky it quickly became clear there were some weird policies. The website said we must call and book our car parking in advance so we did, only to be told we didn 't need to at all so why put it on the website? . The loo downstairs, which I was directed to in the intermission, was really gross brown water in the loo and baby changing right next to it. Definitely needs a good clean, as did the ladies inside I was glad to be at an event outside tbh. The food also had to be ordered in advance and the website said must be paid for in cash although on the night they said that too was not the case and we could pay by card again, why put it on the website? . Then I tried to buy a glass of wine to go with my £8 potatoe no salad, no garnish at all and was told I must buy a whole bottle for £23. I 've only come across that policy at the big exploitative 80s festivals and was quite shocked. When I queried I was told I 'd have fun if I drank a whole bottle and if not I could complain to the landlady. I declined to do that at the time, choosing instead to feedback via email, privately. I duly sent an emailI and then responsded to theirs saying please let us know should the policy change. The next day I received yet another email, tis time from the landlady, telling me basically that I should have come to see her at the time and why I was incorrect in my feedback. I replied, because all the reasons she gave for not selling wine by the glass made no actual logial sense, esp because they weren 't applied to any other measures of alcohol ... I then received a very long email from the landlord accusing me of sending long tiresome emails and telling me how in the wrong I am and that they obviously cannot placate me. Sadly it 's evidently that this is our pub and if you like it you 're welcome, but if you give us any feedback we don 't agree with, then you are an unreasonable customer! . A great shame that feedback is received so unprofessionally and the overreaction was so rude, especially considering selling wine by the glass and bottle is entirely normal, and boxes of wine actually work our cheaper . A pretty dismal night has become a very negative experience for me, and I 'm reminded yet again not to bother trying to feedback privately it 's not appreicated should have just written this review to begin with."

"Came across this hidden gem whilst at a business meeting in Thame. Popped in for a coffee and ended up having a small brunch there. Lovely greeting by friendly staff, whish I could have had the whole menu as every single item looks delicious. However I plumped for the halloumi and avocado on sourdough. Perfectly cooked halloumi with perfectly ripe, tasty avocado. You can tell that all ingredients are fresh and delicious, served with a wedge of lemon and a slice of chilli and just the right amount of chilli jam on the toast to offset the flavours of the avocado and halloumi. Very satisfying but I could have eaten it all over again as it was so good. I also had a delicious flat white and a ginger lemonade, perfect. Looking at the menu I did think I bet they do good eggs here but I did not have the courage to go for the scrambled egg on toast. It 's rare that cafes know how to cook scambled eggs; sadly one often ends up with chopped up omelette or watery hard globules of egg. NOT HERE wow, my wife went for the scrambled eggs on sourdough and they were perfect. Soft, slightly runny as they should be but not undercooked, buttery, good quality, delicious. Simple but made with love. She also had a flat white and enjoyed very much. I made sure I thanked the staff afterwards good, unpretentious cafe food is not too easy to find but this team do a great job and they deserve praise. Well done, we will definitely be back."

"Visited as part of a large private party for a roast dinner. The food was average at best, we 've had much better elsewhere. The side veg was under cooked for our liking, the poor young girl serving was under great pressure, she was doing her best. Some guests asked for more roast potatoes and yorkshire puddings but these didn 't arrive. The chicken was very chewy, the pork wasn 't great either and the beef was very fatty and nearly all the guests left so hungry they had to buy fast food on their way home. I 'm posting a review because the lead guest has told me they were over charged by around £90 and they had visited to complain and request this be refunded, they were greeted by a very bad attitude from the guy behind the bar and he became quite verbally abusive which we feel is extremely bad. The customer is always right until proven otherwise. We were also told the bill was not itemised, which it should have been. The lead guests were told a service charge had been added on, this was not pre discussed or agreed prior to the event, and they were also told the childrens roast would be half price, but had been charged full price. When this was questioned during the conversation, the guy behind the bar said well did you expect it all for nothing? No they certainly did not and we didn 't take kindly to the maner in which he spoke to them. It was finally resolved with a refund being given of £72 so please be aware of this, should you be thinking of booking your own function at this place. We certainly would not return again."

"During our vacation in the area, my wife and I decided to visit Bean Brew on Saturday, August 12th around 1:30pm. My wife went in to secure a table while I quickly popped into the nearby sweet shop. Upon my return with the kids, we found my wife already seated inside near the entrance. She mentioned that there was a 20-minute wait for food, which was not a problem for us. As we looked over the menu, we noticed a woman in the open kitchen area appearing agitated, having a brief conversation with the cook before approaching our table. Without any courtesy, she abruptly informed us that the wait for food was now 30 minutes. Feeling taken aback by her demeanor, my wife and I decided to leave. It seemed like she was annoyed by our willingness to wait for our meals. Although we understand that delays can happen, especially in a busy establishment, it was the way in which the information was relayed to us that made us uncomfortable. The downstairs area was empty, with only one woman and her child present. Perhaps the upstairs was crowded, but the lack of communication was disappointing. Interestingly, the same woman who was downstairs approached me at Waitrose, a nearby store, expressing her surprise at my composure and dissatisfaction with the treatment of customers. It was a strange and unsettling experience, and although the staff seemed busy and stressed, we felt let down by the lack of professionalism. On a positive note, the staff held onto a model plane we had purchased and were courteous when my wife returned for it. We did not want to leave a negative review, but we wanted to share our honest experience at Bean Brew."
