"Wow! A real gem of a country inn in the middle of nowhere serving excellent food at incredibly reasonable prices. Although isolated the restaurant was full for each of the four nights we stayed recently. There is a regular menu and an additional specials board so there is a big selection including five fish dishes, we sampled three and they were delicious. Each dish has a price and that's it. No additional costs like potatoes £4, green beans £3.50 etc, what you see against each item is what you pay.. Portions are generous and arrive piping hot. Drinks prices are also very reasonable, a bottle of Chablis is under £24.. We sometimes shared a starter or just had an ice cream for dessert and we are average drinkers but it worked out that a meal for 2 people per night plus drinks came to £76. Incredible value. Our bedroom with breakfast was £70 per night, again amazing value, but lose a point for not having a sausage with the breakfast egg and bacon. A comfortable bed with plenty of space for clothes etc, to holiday in England you seed to take clothes for all seasons. Please go, you will get a good welcome from management, staff and Emmy the dog, not a Lurcher apparently but looks like one."
