"This place has one salad on the menu, the other ~40 items are all tartes flambée. And you can try a lot of them if you take them up on their All You Can Eat offer. So here's how that works: you tag a bunch of friends along, agree on a tarte, share the tarte from the same platter and order the next one, either right away or whenever you're ready. You can continue as long as no more than 1/4 of a tarte remains on the platter. The great part: even if your companions are all omnivores, as long as you can agree on the vegan creme as base (and why wouldn't you, it's really not much different than the dairy version), the staff will happily prepare one section of the tarte to be free from animal products. One half of the tarte Arrabiata (bacon, tomatoes, olives, chili, garlic) with smoked tofu instead of bacon? No problem. Your companions want the tarte with sweet cream, raspberries, amaretti crunch and custard? The staff will be sure to spare one quarter of the tarte from amaretti and custard trust me, it's still delicious. And if you want a tarte the others don't want and they want one you won't eat? The staff doesn't mind prepping one just for you. The concept is simple and honestly not that special. But what has surprised me and why I will give this place a full score was the professionalism and courtesy of the service team, proactively making suggestions on how they can (partly) veganize a tarte. Even if you are reluctant because you don't want to be viewed as complicated in front of your companions, the waitstaff will dissipate your doubts. In contrast to other places that serve omnis, I've never felt like I needed to double guess if what they served was vegan or not. All in all I felt very welcome and I'm definitely looking forward to returning again."

"this restaurant used to make excellent fusion food, so I was looking forward to another visit. the very short menu was promising. if they serve half a dozen dishes, they should be perfect, right? I have no idea what the chef is trying to achieve here, but they fail. Hard. First, if they serve olive oil in a reagent glass, it should be better a damn good oil. dito, if they serve salat in a flowerpot, it should be a damn good salat. otherwise just stay with normal scurry. my appetizer dump was radioactiw green. I wouldn't blame him, I like to eat colorful food. but the fluorescent dough was inedible, and when I cut it, he detached a layer of fat cheese that was in order, tasty, but the whole thing was visually so unpleasant and remembered sezier lessons in school that I had to put the teller out of the severity while my partner had to rub the salat out of his flowerpot. it should get worse. my soul was coming in a shell of comminuted weizen, accompanied by something I can only describe as two huge cleckse geesekot. with a baby carrot in it. presentation juhu! it should come even worse. they had not skinned the seashore! I still want to. I mean, who serves a twenty-pound court with a seafood, wraps it in rubbed weiz, garnishes it with a goose jersey, but doesn't know how to remove the terrible, lumpy, indigestive skin from it? gah! meanwhile, the waitress could see that I wasn't quite happy, so she came back with a confession from the kitchen. we could have a free espresso. impressive. I was thinking about not paying. all in all, eating was about ninety euro for two people with drinks, and I was bad. my partner said that the brain ravioli were very nice."

"as an american who is relocated to Germany, I like to come to mandy’s to sniff a bit at home. Today we met friends for breakfast. from the moment we came in with our little dog, the host was quite rude to us. We were told that we could only sit outside (not disturbed us). I asked for a child's chair and the hostess told me "ok, but it'll take it." then it took about 20 minutes to get our menus. our waitress was very nice, it was rather the hostess who was the problem. after that it took another half an hour until someone took up our order! at the table next to us, who were apparently well-known of the hostess, they came after us, ordered and got their food, before our order was even received, unbelievably. we were starving and our friends have a 2-year-old child... after they had told the hostess about the waiting, she said very defensiw and rude: "I have said that it takes time!" (I told you it would take time!) When I pointed out that this was in connection with the procurement of a high chair and not with the waiting time for the food, she made it stand up and insisted that she had said this (for her information, I speak fluent German ... that was not a misunderstanding). we always liked to come here, but the way the hostess has treated us was extremely unnecessary and rude. I was wondering if mandy’s is worth our business in the future, and it somehow left a spot on how much I liked the place in the past. :(Maybe it would do them well to hire more service staff if the restaurant is full.and maybe they should learn to treat their customers with respect."

"The Urban Kitchen is centrally located in Heidelberg in the rooms of the old indoor swimming pool in the Bergheim district. In order to use this Art Nouveau building, which has been empty since 1981, there have been discussions in the city for years until an investor restructured the building from 2010 to 2013 for use by gastronomy, retail, offices and for events. In 2017, there was an operator change of 250 place dining room and 220 people can be found on the very spacious terrace. The Urban Kitchen has since become an absolute public magnet. A reservation is therefore urgent when a visit to peak hours – for example Sunday brunch – is planned. This restaurant is one of the coolest and most interesting locations in Heidelberg. The rooms are located on the former pelvic floor of the Frauenbad and the Kesselhaus. Many old technical facilities were simply left as they were. The walls also spray an extremely rustic and untreated charm. Here the phrase “less is more” proves in the best way. The most interesting thing for me is the design of the toilets: In the former washroom, extremely angled packages of different sizes were created, which extend around a large circular basin similar to a well. You just have to see that. The menu is varied and the prices are reasonable. Various dishes have been tested several times by me and have proven to be sufficient for tasty and in quantity. For the Urban Lunch (mid-day table) you pay €8.90, the daily breakfast meal – from 9:00 to 12:00 – costs €9.95 and Sunday – then from 9:00 to 14:00 €13.95; but all without coffee or tea! The buffet is a little more filled on Sunday than in the week and includes everything you can expect from a good (not extraordinary) buffet:Lachs, trout, salad put together and with various dressings, antipasti, freshly baked bread, sausage, cheese, cereals, fruit, ironing, fruit, loose jams, small fritees and Nuremberg sausage. The young staff is very attentive and very easy to use without looking at it. After my observation, there is a very positive mood everywhere. In the partly very bright rooms as well as in the partly cuddly dark corners and angles. Here you really find the right table for every mood and for every occasion. Urban Kitchen has managed to be one of my three top restaurants in Heidelberg in no time. Annex: Now I have to add a drop of water to the wine, because yesterday I was once in the evening and not to the brunch there and ordered a large water. I have a bottle of 0.75 l Apolloinaris at the price of proud 5,10 €. This is not only overpriced, but also morally questionable, but taste cocktails at Happy Hour (until 19:00) 4.90 €"
