"We were so looking forward to trying this place out for the first time tonight Friday 10th Nov. We are very disappointed. The service was lovely. The atmosphere was great. The food was rubbish, seriously overpriced for what you get. We ordered olives and scallops for starters. The olives and bread were lovely. The scallops were slightly undercooked, a bit wet if you ask me and the linguine was too wet also. We ordered the special steak. I insisted on no fat. My steak was literally just fat. My husband’s was ok, my son and I couldn’t eat more than half. It was literally riddled with fatty tumours. Seriously disgusting. The roasted tomatoes were not roasted at all. They were just warm. I don’t know. Add a bit of olive oil and leave in the oven a little longer. The chips were fine. My husband enjoyed the chocolate mousse. My and my son’ s sticky toffee was ok but the custard is warmed up in microwave. It makes it lumpy with a thin coat on top. Not great. But most importantly the table was sticky all over. Use an actual sponge with actual soap and dry with a cloth. This is the only way it won’t be sticky! We paid £150 with no wine. We had a complimentary bottle with the steak special. We won’t go again. The food was not at all the standard it should be. Maybe it was a bad day. The place was busy but this is not for us. We like gourmet food and we thought that it was what we were going to get. If you want delicious food then this place is not the one. The manager and our waitress were lovely but that just wasn’t enough. Talk to the chef and don’t serve disgusting steak specials. Parking: We were told we had to pay for parking when we got there. That should be all over the website. So you get one hour free which means you have to leave in the middle of the meal to pay. Inconvenient for everyone. "For dessert, we decided to share a deconstructed cheesecake, which was absolutely amazing! I would highly recommend this place, especially considering the great value of £9.95 for two courses, including the soup and carvery. The restaurant itself is stunning, with a beautiful view overlooking the football pitch. They also have a wide selection of beers, wines, and champagne."

"was twice in the last weeks. for the first time on Sunday to fry and again on Saturday to the birthday of my daughter. beautiful pub and delightful that there were no last people who have beaten close together. there are also outdoor seating options both front and rear. Eating was really delicious, cooked at home and massive portions. the staff was very friendly and helpful and very sensitive to the needs of our young children. it was nice that there was background music, but nothing too loud. good value for her money. beautiful atmosphere and family friendly. will definitely go back!"

"We stopped by for cocktails and were pleasantly surprised by the great value. Phoebe really made our visit with her delicious handcrafted cocktails. We will definitely be recommending this place. "Waited 1hr 50min for our food despite the fact we pre-booked, pre-ordered, and paid a deposit. They kept using as an excuse that there was another big table that also pre-booked. Why charge a deposit if they’re not going to prepare for it? Once the food finally came it was (not surprisingly) the most generic pub food around. The gammon steak was at best thick bacon. The hunter’s chicken was a chicken sandwich without the bread. After we pressed them on it, they acquiesced and offered a round of drinks after the meal came. Otherwise very little attentiveness while we waited. Hard Pass next time we’re in Hamble. There are so many other better places. Price per person: £20–30 Food: 3 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 3"

"I wish that I had had my phone with me to of taken photos I was staying in Eastleigh for Christmas. I am no fan of Eastleigh. . Had nipped out to go for a jog but instead nipped in for a bite to eat. At my regular gurkka in Hampshire I've ordered the starter Tikka Paneer with mushroom rice and loved it. Their starter Tikka Paneer full of flavours and was generous in portion with more than 4 pieces at similar price to the Great Moghul. Including was the mushroom rice. Sliced mushrooms, sliced spring onions and pease. Full of flavours. The flavour was none too heavy But here at the Great Moghul, I ordered the same. Tikka Panner starter with mushroom rice. Though eaten as was hungry and not eaten all day, the paneer had no taste. Looked red. The colour of tikka seasoning but lacked tikka taste. The paneer had been fried with some pieces over crispy. Also, only four pieces of paneer. The rice, was a very small portion with chunks of fresh mushrooms.I also ordered two poppadoms. I was expecting to receive them warm but they were cold. Whatever happened to the day when we would order a meal or a couple of starters that we would receive a complimentary warm poppadom?"

"Have visited this place several times now and I know it can get rather busy hence the lack of availability when trying to book , a little disappointed this time , never really noticed until tonight with the heavy rain how dark the car park is! Lack of lighting! Was shown to our table across what can only be described as an ice rink , you should really display signs to let people know the floor is slippery. The drinks order was taken and then after several minutes was asked if we were ready to order food,the starter arrived before the drinks! We ordered very similar mains but were presented with wrongly cooked steaks, despite specifying, and incorrect sauce , the onion loaf which is normally cooked correctly was nothing more than a soggy lump of onion cold in the middle. I must say the waitress took all of our comments on board with professionalism and courtesy. Sorry to have a moan but merely disappointed when this type of venue isn't the cheapest but historically it has been worth the premium."

"Hoping this was a bad night in the kitchen but honestly I was very disappointed. The Korean burger was tiny, the slaw was missing a dressing and the chips were sparse. The Korean chicken was lacking in anything Korean about it and very dry. My daughters steak was very fatty and not at all tasty. But the worst were the glasses! Filthy dirty. The chef did prepare extra fillets of chicken but there was nothing Korean about it (we've been to Korea Street food was better). I do have to say when we pointed out the issues, the staff were apologetic and the staff were the best thing about the experience. Sadly they missed out on a big tip due to the other issues. BTW the pizzas looked the best for taste and value! Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4"

"First time here as were camping up the road. On arrival for the Jazz and Fizz at lunchtime Daniel was warm and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. The beautiful secluded garden is a delight with thatched pods. We decided to dine here in the evening and sat in the upstairs restaurant. Again Daniel was very welcoming. Our waitress was Grace who was lovely, a very knowledgeable young lady. Both lunchtime and evening you couldn't fault the food, first class. Good wine selection, one small criticism a shame they do not have beer and lager on tap, bottles only. Can't recommend The River Rat highly enough. Will certainly be returning."

"So where do we start? The beers are amazing, with a mixture of house (brewed onsite) and guest beers/ciders. The food is impressive, I recommend the K.F.C and the Smoked Stack. The venue is small but not cramped and the prices are more than reasonable for the quality. I was travelling with work and booked my hotel specifically so I could come and try this place and it did not disappoint. Visited two evenings and the venue was busy both times so it may be wise to book a table if there's a few of you. My advice....come and check this place out!!!"

"Not often can I not fault an establishment. The staffing was friendly, attentive and met all our needs. We expected to find standard pub grub, but the food was probably the best I had from what appears to be an unassuming pub in a residential area. The burgers were juicy and flavorful. I would say they are far and above of your burger specialist restaurants and the chips were crispy and we'll seasoned from the off. The Good Companions has a very relaxed and intimate atmosphere, perfect for a quiet drink, a meal or celebrating with loved ones."

"We have been to this restaurant several times and the food has always been amazing. I am a fan of Thai cuisine and my partner loves curry, so we went last night and both had our favorite dishes. I asked if they had Thai crackers and they brought out a fresh batch with sweet chili sauce - they were delicious! "Having used these guys for the entire time they've been open we cannot fault the food...it's undoubtedly fab. Disappointed today however to call up for the usual order we would place and find that all the dishes have increased by 50p each and there is now a £3 delivery charge when previous spends of over £30 were free (we're about half a mile from shop). Cost of living rise to blame is understandable but as a self employed person I've not hiked my prices up so drastically. Our usual order has gone up by 20% in one hit. Sorry to say we won't be ordering on principal unless this changes."

"Situated in the Swan centre in Eastleigh the place was very busy. You can see why while queuing up to place your order you can see a selection of all the savoury foods on display followed by sweet selections that makes it very inviting. I see many people order the all day breakfast that looks fresh. But I fancied the look of the festive menu and went with the turkey club sandwich, along with gingerbread latte and bowl of chips. The menu failed to mention or I missed it that the sandwich came with tortilla chips so I did over order. The staff were all very friendly, fast and efficient. Service with a smile. The sandwich was delivered to the table and it was very full to bursting with lettuce leaking out the side. There is a generous amount of turkey, bacon, lovely oozy brie and cranberry sauce sandwiched in 3 slices of toasted bread. A big bite is needed to get a taste of it all but definitely a classic combination done right. The chips were pretty standard fair, portion was good and the gingerbread latte hit the spot. Very nice, I will certainly visit again to try other items on the menu."

"lunch with a friend who went to college, the service was fantastic, the manager was especially great and showed really love to detail! the location was perfect next to the bootshof and eating was fab piping hot and came fast, although the restaurant was quite busy for a Tuesday lunchtime. my friend had a pizza I had fajitas with huh and bark meat that started with just huh, but was very fast resolved (always a good sign) and delicious none of the less! we also had coffee and whisper again exceptional! we will come back soon! many thanks for a nice afternoon bananas campaign!"

"Having been to Reggina 's before we looked forward to going again and showing the top rated restaurant off to friends. Sadly won 't be going again! The evening started off with a fairly long wait for drinks despite the restaurant not being packed. Once the drinks had arrived we then ordered. The waitress then knocked over a Gin and Tonic into my partners lap and had to replace the table cloth etc.,... strangely, no apology. We carried on and ordered our starters, mine was Garlic King prawns which I looked forward to. My order arrived as 'Scallops '. I told the waitress that she had made a mistake but she was adamant that I had ordered Scallops and tried to give me them for a second time. I told her to take them away and bring me the correct dish. This had to be cooked and arrived some time after my partner and friends had finished theirs. Still, the main course was still to look forward to.... or so we thought. I had ordered Spaghetti Carbonara something that I have had there before and liked. When it arrived it was tasteless and floating in Olive oil not the creamy cheese sauce I had anticipated. I called the waitress over and asked what it was and she said this is how the chef cooks it which is the Italian way. I had Carbonara in Italy and it has never looked like this!. I didn 't eat it as to be perfectly honest it was like having spaghetti presented in greasy washing up water!! Anyway long story short, the bill arrived. Ias ked the waitress if there was any discount because she poured the G&T over my partners to cover cleaning bill etc., expecting something like 'her dessert was complimentary ' but instead the waitress preceded to tell us about how she hadn 't charged us for my partners G&T. When looking at the receipt we clearly had been charged but she continued telling us that the G&T was free. After a while it dawned on us that she was referring to the G&T that she had poured over my partner. So I said 'you are telling us that the G&T that your poured over my partner is free? To which she said yes. By now the remaining customers in the restaurant were in fits at the explanation from the waitress. I said lets pay and go because my friends were now uncomfortable with the aggressive manner of the waitress. The other waitress (english) took the receipt away and came back with the two G&T 's removed. We paid and left... never to return!!!!! Advice, there are many restaurants out there with better service that Reggina 's offer with better value for money."
