"this facility is located in lairgate and frankly quite easy to miss because it is very small. but my daughter and I loved it. we went only for coffee and cake, but we were very welcome and the service was cheerful and efficient. it confirms itself as “a taste of France” and that is a very accurate statement. it is really very authentic French terrace and there is also a very good choice. we had fruit pots and they were certainly fruity, tasty, tasty and quite large. the baked was great. the coffee was also smashed. two coffee and two teas came at £10.50, which was very reasonable. I was not aware that they also offered breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea, as well as take-away food, including homemade chocolate and party cakes. there are even special evenings monthly. I will return with the family to try the afternoon and I will report back soon. this caffe is openly a small gem, slightly missed, but not! speciality in the evening meal after we have noticed that the special evening menus are also placed twice a month, we have tried one in the february. the full cost of the meal were £29-95 per person, and they reserve a table with a £5/person payment. they book their selection of dresses in advance. vegetarian options are available when they ask. the device has no license to sell alcohol, so they can bring their own wein, but water is provided free of charge and they can buy alcohol-free drinks. we point out that we arrive fairly late, but they can start their meal at any time at the evening until 8.00 o'clock. it was a tasty experience. there was a friendly atmosphere. it was warm and cozy and the service was fast, careful and efficient. we had kanapes at the arrival, followed by delicious chicken liver pate. two of us then had served the fishduo roulade with a creamy petersil sauce, while my other daughter had decided to the pork fillet with burnt aprikosen. these main dishes were beautifully presented and delicious. it followed a smashed assiette gourmande. we have finished with tea/coffee and petit four. extra tea/coffee was available when needed. there are not many tables so that an evening can be booked completely soon. we have now reserved ourselves for the march and have almost failed, although the owners have pointed out that they were willing to put extra evenings when there was enough demand. speciality evening dinner again! its speciality in the evening, twice or three times a month are absolutely tasty and so much worth at £29.95 per guest. for example, they get kanapes at the arrival, a starter, main course, desert, coffee and competition four. to give them an idea, my daughter chose the French wobbles soup and loved them. I had a delicious fish risotto and for the main course veal or duck were offered. cheesecake or chocolate mousse was available for dessert. all desserts were beautifully presented, very tasty and the service was friendly and very efficient. we can't get there early, but we could eat from 8.00 o'clock. menu details for the next months can be picked up with interest in the terrace. the afternoon is delicious, substantially and very good. the sandwiches were excellent, the brot fresh and tasty. I liked the coronation chicken and smoked salmon with cream cheese especially. alternatives can be ordered when required. there were no stirs that were hardly surprising, but both the hearty and sweet croissants were delicious as the cakes. they can have either tea or coffee. the tee was excellent and we were provided with hot water and milk. the service is friendly and first advice they can not book a table, but if they arrive after 2 clock, they should have little problem getting a table. we were tempted by some wonderful extra goodies. beautifully presented, rich, ingenious and best common cake in the form of Swiss chalets, candles and baubles. trees to light up christmas. full-day breakfast: extensive menu, very tasty and good value. recommend the speck and a breakfast basket"

"Visited today with my wife and month old daughter whilst we are on holiday in the area. We didn’t have a booking but this wasn’t a problem, the staff were friendly throughout and accommodating about lack of booking. We asked for a children’s menu...(website says they have one) but we were advised it’s was the basket meals menu which they advertise as selling to guests sat outside, they did also mention they could make a smaller portion of something from the adult menu. The basket meals menu is mainly fried food and chips, the kind you might share with friends over drinks, I wouldn’t call it a children’s menu. To me a children’s meal should at least come with some option of veg/salad/beans and ideally not be fried, plus the chips that arrived with her chicken bites were salted, not great for little ones. We didn’t make a fuss as for one meal as a treat we weren’t unduly worried but it would put me off going back with children. They also charged the full basket meal price so no reduction for children. Our meals, fried garlic mushrooms, salt and pepper chicken goujons to start then a beef burger and chicken burger as mains, arrived promptly and were generous portions. The food was fine, nothing spectacular just average pub food. The main issue on our visit and the thing that made the whole meal much more stressful and unenjoyable was the flies, we were sat in what they called the restaurant area and our whole meal start to finish was disrupted by or flies continuously buzzing round us, trying to land on our food and land on us, not fun. I accept that or flies can be around when doors or windows are open and it’s hard to stop them coming when food is around but or round us and more to be seen in the room seems too many to me, it really put us off especially when they were landing on our daughter. At the point of eating the meal we didn’t raise the issue as we couldn’t see that anything could be done about it and I’m sure the staff are not a fan of the flies either. I did raise the issue whilst paying and was told they knew about the problem and were doing their best to solve it, sadly for us it would stop me wanting to go again. All in all not a great experience and the food whilst nice enough wasn’t good enough to overcome the issue of the flies and the lack of a proper children’s menu."
