"Today he was such a beautiful place to sit and eat. there was a coworker who was quite rude that I actually did not want to order from him at the bar. he asked me to tell my son that he was careful with the snooker table incase that he cracked it absolutely fair enough, but he was not very friendly or pleasant about it. there's gone as they talk to customers. I'm getting totally busy, but I didn't feel he was pretty rude. eating was excellent and based on being back. hopefully the team member has a better day next time"

"This was the first time we had been here and will not be back. we stood at the wait here sign to be seated and had three members of staff push by us with no acknowledgment of us atoll. Eventually a young lady asked us if we wished a seat, She offered us one right next to the walk way and we asked for a booth as it was less chaotic. We were handed menus and asked for a drinks order. While waiting another couple had to ask a chef, I think, who was standing leaning against a booth if he worked there and could they have a seat. There was lots of loud, raised voices, mostly from the female senior staff member!! The food came quick enough but I had to ask for some lettuce on my poor chicken burger, the young lad apologised and rectified it. The food itself was bland, we were hungry so it was eaten. We paid the bill no mention of the service charge which we should be told about. I decided to have an ice cream to take out. However the counter at the ice cream section was in a right mess and I could not read what flavours they had as the tubs were all over the place. I stood with no acknowledgment from the staff even though they were behind the counter, then loud lady announced she was off and walked out behind me with take out bags, still no acknowledgment. the other staff member walked away, I left. I worked in retail and even if I am busy I acknowledge the customer is there. This place needs a major staff training program on customer service and the food hygiene before Health and safety gives them a visit. This place will survive thanks due to tourist trade but not many will return. Shame"

"I ordered a takeaway on a Sunday night opting for simple rice, daal and saag paneer. Never having been before I thought these were safe options. How wrong I was... I was staying at a nearby hotel where the kitchen had closed but the staff took the packages from me and plated them up. The waiter was silent when he placed the combined meal in front of me because it looked as though someone had vomited. It was a pool of watery yellow mush with, to my amazement, Brussels sprouts floating in it. Since when have sprouts been part of Indian cuisine? The paneer consisted of four diced pieces each about the size of a marble; there was no proper spinach just a trace of what looked like green slime on the plate. The mush, I can think of no other word, was tasteless; there was no evidence of cumin, coriander (despite the name of the establishment), garam masala or any Indian flavour at all. Not only that but I was charged over £16 for this rubbish. I am amazed beyond belief that this place can stay in business."

"We enjoyed our lovely little boat ride over to the island of Kerrera for some lunch at the Waypoint Restaurant Bar and a great hike around the island. Our small lunch was GREAT and perfect for what we were planning for the day Our service was perfect and helpful they gave us a hiking map with a key that actually helped us quite a bit. The fish and chips were great and our views of the marina as well. Nice having bathrooms available as well and there were showers too Definitely a keeper and a hidden gem."

"An absolute disgrace! We made reservations for the evening a few months ahead at 6.30. We were suddenly requested to come at 5. We told the owner that that was not possible, after some bizarre emails we did arrive a bit earlier than our original plan, around 6, looking forward to a nice evening amongst a group of friends, who also were eating there that night. But we got astonned as immediately we were told to leave within an hour!!! We told that that was unacceptable, and got the reply that it was ok. But it clearly was not... The entrees were put on the table within 5 minutes, the mains immediately after that. Entrees still on the table.... further we were fully ignored. After we finished the main they cleared the table and threw the check on it?!? I have never ever been threated this rude in any restaurant ever. With tears in my eyes we left while our friends came in to enjoy the extend dinner evening... And besides, the place was filthy, lady toilet not working, male toilet dirty and sticky ánd the food was quite bad.. the chicken was extremely dry, the spicy dish was not spicy and all courses were mostly sauce with only a few grams of chicken/prawn. The water was warm and there was no coffee or tea. This place is a disgrace and should be avoided, shame on you Taj Mahal!"

"Just had the seafood platter for two and were pleasantly surprised! It’s a long time since we’ve had a good pub meal. Lots to enjoy, smoked salmon, hot smoked salmon, pickled herrings, prawns, smoked mussels, delicious langoustines, breaded scallops freshly battered fish, monkfish and a couple of other things I’ve forgotten, served with a fresh salad and three accompanying sauces we ordered chunky chips as a side but not really necessary. The only fault I could find was that I had to ask for lemon it wasn’t on the platter. Presentation and service all very good. If I were to have this again I might ask for the cold elements to be served first to have for a starter followed by the hot fish for the main. Wine menu not extensive, however our choice was a NZ white was extremely good. The place was very busy for a Tuesday however the service was not compromised, staff pleasant and competent. Not much to fault, lots to compliment which certainly makes a nice change!"

"We booked this restaurant after reading the reviews while touring Scotland what a disappointment. When we arrived we were shown to a table straight behind the door and as it kept opening and shutting it blew a massive amount of cold air in. As both parents and staff allowed 2 young children to go in and out every few minutes it got a bit much. We were given the menu and told specials were on the board. No description or recommendation. Also they did not say the board also goes over the top of the fish on didplay. I had crab claws to start the mayonnaise was lovely and what I could get out of the claws was nice but I was given no instruments to get into the claws and they were not broken enough for them to just pull out. I ordered the turbut for main as did my husband it was a small fillet with the skin correctly removed but it was loaded with garlic butter sauce you couldn't taste the fish for the garlic. Also which was worse I don't know what they did to the top of it but it was yellow and like thin rubber. We had to peel it off it was not good. I didn't complain at the time because I am not used to having a fillet of turbut. When I have had it before my husband and I have shared a turbut presented whole at the table. I have only written this today after speaking to some friends who said i should put something on because there had to be something wrong for the top of the fish to be yellow and leathery. You might guess but I won't be going back."

"okay, it was a sunny day so that a day was planned outside, but surely it was a bad day to eat this wetherspoon. Yeah, there's a pandemic, so they were probably short-time. we have allowed this, but not for the cold meal that was finally put before us. I had ordered a little haddock and chips. there were many cold chips and inherited, but the squid was reported missing. the part was so small that he had vanished into a little hard-boiled teig. the meal came together with a soft drink. I decided instead for tee. when my already cold meal was served, I was told that tee was self-service. No one led me where the machine was, and I finally had to ask another employee. Given the fact that everything was table service, due to covid restrictions, I found this aspekt, where everyone in the restaurant could use a touchscreen and use themselves, rather bizarre and off-putting. fortunately, I wear my own handsanitary! it's a long time since I last had a meal and if I'm ready to dine out again, I will certainly avoid wetherspoons!"

"You wouldn't think that cooking and serving a portion of fish chips is difficult. Apparently it is in Tarbert! We decided to give this place another chance, as our previous experience wasn't very good. We ordered fish chips, and were served some form of slimy white substance wrapped in a pale wet oily handkerchief, with some greasy cold potato wedges on the side. There was some green mush spread over the plate which (we assumed) was supposed to be originating from peas. I sent my meal back to be cooked, and when it was returned the result wasn't much of an improvement. clearly the microwave wasn't working We felt sorry for the young waitress whilst very pleasant, she could only make the excuse that the place was busy. When serving food, every meal coming out of the kitchen should be of an adequate standard. We suggest that you bring your own picnic instead of paying good money for slop!"

"This restaurant used to be very popular, with excellent food and service. However, our recent experience was disappointing. We waited ten minutes to be served, despite being the only customers in the restaurant. The staff seemed more focused on chatting amongst themselves than on attending to us. It's clear now why the restaurant is not as busy as it used to be. We won't be returning."

"We had a wonderful experience at this charming Indian restaurant. The food was freshly cooked and delicious, with great pakora starters and three excellent mains. The tarka dal was outstanding, one of the best we've had. The service was efficient and friendly, with the owner and a young lady looking after us. They even provided fresh chillies on the side in case we needed more heat. The crispy hot naan breads and perfect mushroom rice were a great addition to our meal. The owner made recommendations based on our conversation, and the chef came out to greet us as well. The restaurant does not have a full license, so you can bring your own alcohol. The atmosphere was cozy with around 16 covers, brightly lit but with pretty table settings. Overall, a great place for excellent food and service in a spotlessly clean environment. We will definitely be returning."

"The menu at this restaurant is predominantly meat-focused, making it challenging to find vegan options. After some searching, I discovered that all the vegetarian dishes are listed under the 'sides' section. I decided to try the Saag Aloo, which our server confirmed was naturally vegan and was incredibly tasty. Unfortunately, none of the naan options were vegan, and our server was not very helpful in exploring potential vegan modifications. Despite this, the rest of the staff were friendly and accommodating. My partner enjoyed a vegan-friendly pad Thai from the Thai section of the menu, while our friends ordered the massaman curry, which was flavorful but unexpectedly spicy for their mild preference."

"While on a short break in Dunoon at Hunters Quay, we decided to try some delicious tandoori food. We found this restaurant through Google and were not disappointed. We enjoyed dishes such as garlic naan, korma sauce, mixed grill tandoori sizzler, tandoori prawns with curry sauce, and king prawns in garlic and cream sauce. Coming from Glasgow where we have visited many Indian restaurants, this place exceeded our expectations. The prawns were large and juicy, and the curry sauce was excellent. My husband loved the mixed Tandoori grill and the korma sauce was also a hit. The starter of king prawns in garlic and cream was simply amazing. Overall, it was a complete success! We were shocked to discover that this gem is not closer to us in South Ayrshire, but we will definitely be back when we visit Dunoon/Hunters Quay in January. It may not be the best for our waistlines, but the food is worth it!"

"Having arrived at the restaurant for the first time without knowing what to expect, my wife and I had a reservation for 7:45 pm on Thursday, May 11th. When we entered the bar, we were greeted by Robbie who directed us to the restaurant where one of his colleagues would seat us. To our surprise, when we entered the dining room, we were greeted by the same person again - or was it his twin as he joked? Our server, Amanda, guided us through the menu and happily answered our many questions about the village and Craignish peninsula. We enjoyed a starter of Cullen Skink, a smoked haddock soup that Amanda had prepared - it was delicious. Our main courses of sea bass and sirloin steak were cooked perfectly and were equally delicious. The Cranachan dessert we shared was also a hit. The view of the loch from the restaurant was stunning, and we were impressed by the friendliness of the staff. As we went to settle our bill, we chatted with a friendly man at the bar who initially claimed to be a dishwasher but turned out to be the chef. He shared with us details about our meal, from how he prepared it to the care he put into each dish. Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience with excellent service, delicious food, and lovely people. We highly recommend this restaurant."

"The service was okay, however it was slow even though we were the only ones in the restaurant. We were only informed at the end of our meal that they only accepted cash as their card machine was not working. Parking on Tobermory main street can be limited depending on the time. The overall dining experience for dinner was average, with the price per person ranging from £10-£20. The food, service, and atmosphere all received a rating of 3 out of 5. Finding a parking space can be somewhat difficult."

"Such a bright friendly greeting and great convivial atmosphere really made this an ideal place to enjoy excellent food. The Cullen Skink was perfect, the abundant gambas beyond sublime, enhanced by a generous touch of chili, ginger and coriander in their pot of garlic butter. Faultless cooking and presentation, this was a wonderful lunch. Big shout out for the delightful young lady from Ballymena who greeted, served and brought enthusiasm and genuine warmth to the place. "I am giving this restaurant five stars just for being open for lunch! It's difficult to find places to eat on this island. The food was actually quite good. I enjoyed the steak pie and fish & chips. "Ever since discovering Ceabhar and its hospitable, ever cheery owners, Polly and Duncan we've been back again and again. What draws us? Yes, the food, but first the welcome. The warmth and passion that these two surf loving Geordies bring to their cooking and their service. They love what they do and never rest on their laurels. They'll chat with you, give advice on where the good waves will be tomorrow, and make you feel like Tiree has always been your home as well as theirs. And then the food... Polly's pizza, tick. (The best pizza dough this side of Rome. Spicy chorizo starter, tick. (Our daughter pre orders to make sure there's some left. But the range is as wide as Polly's imagination local produce (Duncan will nip into the garden for fresh herbs as the meal is cooking , fabulous meat, a developing line in gluten free mains and desserts and all accompanied by carefully chosen Scottish beers, including in 2016 for the first time, Duncan's own brews. There is in all this a blend of comforting home cooking with real attention to detail. But if the food and the welcome is always of an incredibly high standard (and remember, this is a small island we're talking about , the setting is second to none on the edge of the Atlantic, with the crags of Kenovara nearby and Skerryvore winking in the distance. Get a real Tiree sunset and you won't want to move from your seat. And why should you? Just ask Duncan for another beer."

"Attended this Tandoori as it had better reviews than it's counterpart. Sat downstairs I believe it used to host people upstairs). Indian meal was lovely curry and rice made beautifully. The naan bread was quite bland however. Host was very polite and nice however due to business of the take away part, had forgotten our drinks to begin with. BYOB too so remember that! Atmosphere could do with improvements to give the restaurant area a focus. Good food so can't complain about that! Food: 4 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3"
