"Things looked ominous from the start when questioned about the pie female server did not understand the concept of British pies. Fish Pie v Chicken Pie. We ended up ordering 3 x pie of the day and from the specials board, lamb stew. After quite a few minutes she came back and said the pies were off. So we chose two burgers and a fish pie. After quite a lengthy wait The food arrived. The burgers were all really bad quality the cheese on too plasticky. The chips, which was supposed to be homemade triple cooked were just greasy normal frozen and empty. My friend says it will be a long time before she eats a burger again after the awful taste left by this. The fish pie was okay but it was just mashed potato with a bit of sauce, cheese on top and a few fishy bits. The lamb stew was quite exceptional. The size of the portion was way less than a normal can of soup. It was about half an inch of watery liquid in the bottom of a bowl with three very small pieces of lamb about the size of a dice and a few vegetables. It was supposed to come with Chiabatta but it came with French stick which was okay but for 15 there was probably no more than .50 worth of food in the soup. Very surprised how this place canoe out with a 4 star rating."

No dogs allowed inside is a bit of an outdated rule . It meant we couldn’t go in, even though it was empty and very cold outside.

Staff, beer and food 10/10. Especially appreciated the help getting the car park app downloaded and parking paid for. WiFi required as there is no mobile service in this location.

No dogs allowed inside We went in with a few kids for a quick drink on Sunday afternoon and were made to feel very unwelcome. Felt like we were being watched for bad behaviour. My advice….go to the Pentre

Been coming to Llangrannog for many years, first time in the Ship since new ownership. The service was horrendous. Apart from the male barman who was knowledgeable and pleasant) the owner and the female bar staff were grumpy, unpleaseant and unwelcoming. Will not come back until the ownership changes again! What a shame :

Walked in but could barely get through the barrage of people standing in the doorway. Admittedly the pub itself isn’t huge but the doorway should at least be kept clear. Managed to push our way through to the bar only to stand there for 20 minutes and be ignored by the bar staff while all 3 of them served one customer. Left eventually due to being parched. Would not recommend.

I would like to thank the restaurant for their warm welcome and amazing food that made the 2-hour drive on New Year's Day worth it. The staff and owners were friendly, and my young children were happy to chat with them. I highly recommend the chicken mushroom pie and the crumble, which was heavenly. The prices were very reasonable for the high quality of food. We will definitely be returning soon.

We had a great experience at this lovely pub that serves delicious food. The staff were friendly and attentive. We were happy to have a table with a view of the sea on our first night. We dined here twice during our vacation and I especially enjoyed the sea bass and chicken. My husband was happy to see crab on the specials menu. I wish there were more options for vegetables besides just salad, but overall, there was plenty to choose from.

So disappointed that this pub had closed down. We visited in October 2022 with our French bulldogs in tow and received the best of welcomes. We decided to take another break in the area this month (September 2023) and top of our list was a return to the ship inn at Llangranog, so disappointed to return and find you closed down as there is nothing else in the area. We get it times are hard in hospitality and hope that someone is able to reopen this great pub and make it work.

Do not allow dogs, which is why the restaurant was empty. The atmosphere from the moment you walk in makes you feel uncomfortable. We decided not to dine there and were eager to leave. Despite being locals and frequent visitors, we only entered because we didn't have our dogs with us. Our toddler was upset when they wouldn't let him eat a fruit snack at the table, citing their expensive chef and strict policy. We were the only customers in the restaurant. The staff seemed inexperienced and lacked basic customer service skills. We were relieved to leave and return to the excellent Pentre Arms pub on the waterfront, where we always receive a warm welcome. Avoid giving this restaurant your busi...
