"It's unusual to find a Chinese restaurant on a skiing holiday. But there it was, on the top floor of the shopping centre in St Johann. And after a week of very nice Austrian food I fancied a change. It's very modern in appearance. Well, it's a concrete box in a concrete block. So nothing in the way of charm or Gemütlichkeit. But frankly after a week in Austria I had had about as much pine cladding and stuffed animals as I could take. The Austrians at the next table weren't having anything to do with the rice bowl and chopsticks on offer though. Here's the deal. It's an all you can eat buffet for just under 15€. I think they have a time limit if they are busy, or if you are eking out a single glass of cola while eating your own weight in fried rice. It wasn't busy, and this didn't affect us at all. Starters at one end. Main courses at the other. That staple of Chinese cooking, sushi, round the corner. They bill themselves as an Asiatic Buffet - I saw quite a few Thai dishes on the menu, though not in the buffet tonight. Well, the starters were pretty bland. Tiny spring rolls and samosas. Deep fried prawns and veggies. Crispy won ton. None of it tasted of very much at all. Help yourself to a little bowl of sweet and sour sauce, or what the waitress called garlic sauce but was I think hoi sin. It still didn't taste of very much. Certainly not garlic. My wife went for the soup and reckoned it was a big improvement on the other starters. The sushi and sashimi weren't anything stunning but did taste of something other than deep fried batter. Help yourself to pickled ginger and wasabi sauce and I defy anyone to say this is bland. Main courses. Egg fried rice or noodles - one after the other, or both at once if you like. Then heap on whatever they have on display. This was a huge improvement on the starters. I particularly liked the Szechuan duck, but I tried a little of everything and liked it all. I suspect they probably swap the dishes around a bit so it might be different things tomorrow. Lots of umame tingles - we don't get a lot of monosodium glutamate in the UK these days, perhaps because of food sensitivities. They had slices of orange and tinned lychee for sweet. I passed up on the deep fried apple and banana. I'd certainly go again but would probably skip the starters next time."

We ate there a few times, and each one was a pleasure. Their sweet and sour chicken, duck and beef with wok vegetables were all very good.

bad service - we haven't had any drinks for a long time, and the waiters looked past us several times until we pointed them out loudly that we still want to drink. eating was fade and boring.

as an Asian restaurant with an overwhelmed classic selection ok - but the sushi leaves something to be desired from my own. At noon there is only a small selection of it and not too much quantity. the ambiente could be a bit more cozy and radiated. Voir le carte

My husband and I wanted something different for dinner after eating Austrian cuisine several meals in a row. A la carte food was delish and the owner/worker was very pleasant and spoke both German and English. Would def go back if craving Asian cuisine again.

the courtesy question, whether there is a food that was answered by the serving chefin with a rather annoyed "I don't know". at the next question we were brief and briefly explained that the answer to it would be found in the menu (at opening hours). Eating is more than usual. Deep-cooled, suspicious green broccoli. The only fresh, the herbal salad, was too coarse. we will not visit these Chinese anymore.

I and my friends had a terrible experience in this restaurant. the workers watched us eat each bite so we don't try to eat each other. since I have a history of escaping, it's super triggering to stare someone. they have been eating for a whole meal and leave rude commentary while we eat. they also said that they would charge us extra if we did not end our eating. that is an interesting question if eating is not very good. do not go here, find other Sushi/Chinese food places that are worth the trip. I would not recommend this restaurant for summer dining. No A/C so doors were open allowing insects, including yellow jacket wasps, inside. Also, smokers dining outside made it smoky inside. The food on the buffet was average. I was most put off by the fact that the price shown for the buffet was not the true price. I think it is deceptive to post a price lower than the minimum any customer will be charged. Here the only way to get the buffet was to order an overpriced beverage with it. I refuse to return to any business using deceptive practices.

we just finished our dinner. eating: overall, eating is mediocre, but that was that most main dishes were empty. no meat/fish more than 35 minutes. they pay 15 euro per person and then get to eat a suppe not only that, but the waitress was so rude! it acts as if the customers disturb them! I asked her when the flesh will be filled again, she actually yelled at me and said:later. the last strange thing was that we left 4 cloves (that is the only dish that went to eat at this time) on our plate. the waitress asked me why I don't eat it. I said it tastes bad. then, she refers me to the menu where it actually saiyng that when they leave eating on the teller, they will pay an additional 30%! don'...

"We went to the Steakhaus Rauchkuchl based on previous reviews. We were staying just up the hill so it was only a two minute walk from the hotel. There is no doubt about the theme of this restaurant as once you've entered it's like an all American rodeo show! We arrived around 8.30pm on the Saturday night and were surprised that there were only a few tables occupied. We sat in the smaller non-smoking section but could've sat on the adjoining outside terrace if we so wished. We were given a nice, courteous welcome by the waiter. The menu has a decent selection so it's ok for someone who prefers something other than beef!We ordered a camembert starter to share. It came with some lovely lightly toasted baguette style bread and is definitely worth a go. For the main meal my wife ordered a Steaktoast - lots of small steak pieces covering a lightly toasted slice of bread. Not keen on garlic sauce she asked to swap for the cocktail sauce which the waiter was happy to agree to. This was more like what we'd call a ranch dressing - not at all a cocktail sauce you get with prawns in the UK.Myself, I went for a proper steak, the 350g (14oz) Rib Eye. This was perfectly cooked to Medium rare as ordered and was simply excellent. The waiter suggested a Jack Daniels sauce to accompany the steak and he was right, they went very well together. A nice side salad was part of the meal and I ordered an extra side of big fat chips - well what's a steak without the chips? As it was our last night in Austria we thought we'd sign off with a traditional Apfel Strudel. Unfortunately this did not match our expectations as clearly it was not freshly made and was quite stodgy. We had eaten Strudel earlier on our holiday so knew how good it could be! Nevertheless we polished it off and ended the meal very satisfied overall. If we went back again though we'd probably give the dessert a miss. After settling the bill we wandered back to the hotel where it dawned on me that I'd left my mobile phone on one of the seats back at the restaurant. Luckily the waiter had found it and kept it safe for me. Vielen Dank!"
