"We went during covid times so the menu was limited and was tapas only. I found it was a bit pricey for what you got and tended to skimp on the sauces. It is on the seaside so it's a great location to sit out doors and socialize. The crispy Tofu with chilli was ok and they didn't give much sauce so I had to ask for more, it was a sweet chilli sauce so I didn't like it. The Wild mushroom aranchini pesto was very bitter so I didn't like that. The best dish was the button mushrooms with feta. The cheese board was ok but unfortunately the crackers that were provided were sweet, I can't stand sweet crackers or bread. The dessert was a chocolate orange cake, which was well done, but unfortunately I'm not keen on chocolate mixed with orange, The owner/host was great fun, jolly very friendly and entertaining. I wanted to give it a higher rating, but it was an expensive meal for small portions and I was hungry afterwards. The sauces were tiny (on one dish it was literally a teeny smear you could not get anything off of it) and the flavours were either sweet or very bitter and rather lack luster all around."

We went for dinner, following social distancing rules. The food was gorgeous, it's a mix of vegetarian and vegan tapas. There were 6 vegan options plus 2 sides which was a good amount for the 2 of us. Impressive wine menu which specified the vegan wines. Lovely chocolate brownie for dessert. Would definitely return. It's really refreshing to have fine dining food and not vegan junk food! Voir le carte

A lovely little place to have a glass of wine (or two) and some vegan food! We had a selection including a Vbab, bang bang broccoli, crispy fried tofu and palm calamari. Was very good indeed! The waiter was knowledgeable on wine and the selection is very good. You can sit outside and have a glass or inside the cosy interior. As it is small inside if out with a group I would recommend booking!

So...I think the style of this has changed since other reviews. No more upmarket comfort food; instead it's more Easternish food served as tapas. Slightly confused offering. But half of the menu is vegan and half veggie so a good choice. (Although, because I had 3 dishes, I had more or less exhausted their vegan selection Quality was very high and two of my three choices were delicious. The veg curry was a bit disappointing. "I would first like to start out by saying that this is a gorgeous little cafe, with very friendly staff and great options for everyone. I have been eating at The Orchard for a couple of years, and have loved it. I am plant based, and have always found their vegan options to be brilliant! However, last week I accidentally ate meat for the first time in 6 years due to fault of the chef. Twice in a row, I have visited and ordered a vegan) seitan Reuben sandwich, and have been served the real meat version instead, which I believe contains corned beef traditionally. Luckily for me, the first time this happened, the waitress noticed before I could even eat any, and they replaced it quickly. I understand these things do happen, and am a big believer in second chances, so I went back recently. I ordered the same sandwich, and took 3 mouthfuls before realising something tasted unfamiliar, so I checked inside and found real meat. I was devastated when I realised, and so was the waitress and manager. The manager refunded our total bill, and was incredibly apologetic and mortified that it had happened. I know this wasn't any fault of the front of house staff they listened carefully. I feel like I can't go back, unfortunately, as I can't risk eating meat again. And I'm really sad that's the case, because this was one of my favourite spots to eat and I'll miss it so, so much!! I hate to rate a small business poorly, but I really felt I needed to warn any non meat eaters, as I can only imagine how much more devastating it would be if this happened to someone that gave up meat for religious or allergy reasons. If you eat meat then there's no need to worry, as this place is fantastic otherwise. If the cafe replaces their chef then I would love to come back one day... :"
