We visited a charming country pub that was two hundred years old after our trip to Salisbury. We had a meal and a pint there, and I really enjoyed their chicken burger. The service was excellent. Voir le carte

This well-liked pub offers an attractive menu, a clean and bright dining room, and plenty of ambiance. However, there may be a bit of a delay between receiving drinks and being able to place a food order.

We had a fantastic dining experience at a charming little pub in the lower Woodford Valley. We stumbled upon this gem while exploring Stonehenge and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and service.

Only concern was that we booked for 8.45pm, arrived at 8.50 and were told that the kitchen was closing, they would serve us only if we ordered immediately and they said they do not accept reservations for 8.45pm, despite the app offering that! consistent super service, food and attitude; the menu offers a choice of food which will appeal to almost every diner; the small puddings which they offer are quite unique and always delivered to a very high standard. The staff attitude is always a pleasure to enjoy and nothing is ever a problem

Having booked a table for two we had a very friendly greeting from the staff upon arrival. Today we were looked after by Laura. She attended to our every need making our dining experience here just great. She is a great asset to the place. The food was great up to their usual high standard. We would recommend The Wheatsheaf to everyone and hopefully be returning again soon.

The staff were all polite and attentive, although two dropped plates while we were there seemed a little clumsy. Out of four main meals, only two were good; an award winning pie had stodgy undercooked pastry and the vegan shepherds pie, described as being full of mushrooms and kale in a tomato sauce, was 99% lentil and very dry. A single mushroom slice was very disapointing. The celery that was served with the baked Camembert was inedible, stringy and discoloured down the middle of every stalk. On the plus side, the beer battered fish was melt in the mouth, our request for gluten free bread with the starter was brought out without hesitation, the apple juice was crisp and fresh and the ameri...
