"My mum who is 95 with various health issues fancied fish and chips! Long story short we went and I parked up to get a take away as mum carnt get out the car. The young lady behind the counter was so caring when I explained I didn’t want to wait too long due to mums health on her own. She very kindly took my order, said she would split bewtween 2 boxes so mum wouldn’t be made to feel any different , asked where I was parked and told me to go bs k to the car and she would find me and bring the food out to us when cooked, I really couldn’t thank her enough and she certainly went behind and above We definately return the young lady restored my faith in excellent customer service when I returned home I did ring the manger to pass on on thanks."

The fish and chips were excellent, probably the best we have had in years. The service by the staff was top notch, and also the surroundings was very pleasant. We will definitely go again.

Nice fish and chips but they charge for bread which is ridiculous actually we found a better place to go now and that’s because of the charge for bread which is a must have with fish and chips

Wetherby Whaler in Wetherby is very good. It's a while since we went to the one on Denby Dale Road, Wakefield. What has happened? The chips were hard and overcooked, and the fish was slimy inside the batter, and seemed to have been warmedup/kept warm. Service was excellent and so was the cup of tea. I'll try the Whaler on Leeds Road next timel

Delicious fish and chips. I’m coeliac and dairy intolerant and their NG batter (on the haddock) was so nice. They were so careful preparing it and keeping it separate. They also label some gf salt and vinegar which they keep under the counter as the salt and vinegar out on the counter could get contaminated. We’re new to the area so will be visiting again soon.

It was a year since we last went here been visiting the restaurant and takeaway for years while living in the area Waited a couple of minutes to be seated a young lad came up to us no eye contact and said follow me took us over to a table right next to the kitchen door and said sit here his rude attitude was awful !! The food was very good however the insufficient young lad forgot peas and bread

The food was good, as expected. However, where is the personality of the staff? A warm greeting or a slightly less patronising tone of voice from the serving staff? The greeting comprised a male raising his eyebrows in our direction and then being shown to a table. No ‘Good evening’ and a smile, or anything close. The waitress had all the charm of a pre-recorded voice. Yes, I know we were probably the 500th table she’d served today, but amongst her many roles, her job is to make customers feel valued. We didn’t.

"Exploring the outskirts of Leeds led me to discover the gem that is Corarima, a gluten free, vegan haven in Wakefield. As someone currently navigating a gluten free journey, stumbling upon this Abyssinian vegan/gluten free restaurant was a true delight. Opting for the combination platter for two was a journey through a sensory layer cake a symphony of tastes and smells expertly presented. We embraced the experience, relishing the deliciousness with our hands, a practice met with the owner's delighted approval. The host, a charming and attentive soul, took us on a culinary tour, passionately detailing each dish. He was so warm, Friendly and attentive without being over bearing. The decor added to the warmth, creating a homely ambiance that made this dining experience extraordinary. In the realm of UK dining, Corarima has secured its spot among our favorites. It's more than a restaurant; it's a rare and complete experience, a testament to the charm and authenticity of Abyssinian cuisine. I wish we lived closer as we’d visit regularly for sure! Dietary restrictions: I’ve recently had to go gluten free whilst also being vegan so it was wonderful to relax knowing that the menu was accommodating of my dietary requirements Kid friendliness: Whilst we were dining a family arrived with a young baby and the host was so charming and attentive with the baby. Engaging with the baby as if it was any other diner (even offering to take his order)!"
