"we had lunch, hunger and no desire to run far, so we decided to go for the bistro in the elbhof. in the moments they should bring geduld as the snake already pulls off the door, but it is quickly worked out. the bistro is located in the interior of the elbhof and also offers outside spaces. inside it is generously designed, many sitting places, partly too dark for me. the last itself is clean and the personal is always friendly. we've been working again. we had luck, there were only 10 people in front of us, so you had the chance to get his food in a rest. then ordered • large salad – the ingredients are all always fresh, the predominant here, they can put their salat together as they like it. the part is great for us, even for everyone. • chili con carne – tasty chili with fresh ingredients and a delicious cream rich • chicken breast with mozzarella baked – very delicious, well prepared breast with the cheese baked, with Mediterranean vegetables and rosmarin. all fresh and well seasoned. it was really good. the price-performance ratio is very good. the sodexo restaurant pass is also accepted. optimal for lunchtime, they only have to make sure they appear there in time so they don't have to wait so long. it can be highly recommended."

Nice place, good food and pleasant service. Helpful and accommodating of our large group. Service was a bit slow especially as we were the only people there. Free shot at the end went down well. A safe bet for a cold German evening

I went here for lunch twice during a weekend visit. The food was excellent. The specials were creative, the food was fresh and I'd say it was a good value. My friends and I each paid €13 for everything, although there are cheaper and more...expensive options. The service was great. I think it was the owner that attended to us. He was very helpful and welcoming. Voir le carte

When you look for local food such as Matjes Hering or liver as they make it in Berlin, consider the Westminster Bistrot. I went there with some friends, had the herring with oven potatoes (Ofenkartioffeln) and the liver. Both meals were delicious. And we felt...welcomed by the two owners of the place, the one serving and the second cooking. There are more local meals on the menu list just enticing. When I will go back to Hamburg, I will again eat in the Westminster.

I was at Hamburg's harbor anniversary with overcrowded front lines and piers. I escaped and found the bistro with a old/modern design touch. It is located on a corner street with few steps downstairs. Was friendly greeted and was offered local food specialties, i was...very happy with the food and service. You can have table service or sit at the counter and have a chat with the team. It was a true relaxing moment from the busy harbor line. I decided to go there daily during the festival, few meters away from the Baumwall, metro station and also walking distance from the Steicherstadt touristic area...will definitely return when back to the city.

"There's always a question (in my mind, anyway) as to Michelin's accuracy/usefulness outside of France. In the US, it's not very helpful at all and in Europe ex-France, I've found it hit and miss. Haerlin represented only my second stab at a two-star in Germany and the first meal (Heinz Winkler), while a thoroughly wonderful overall experience, felt like the second star might have been a stretch. Not so at Haerlin, this was a two-star meal that stands fork-to-fork with any I can remember. The food is stylized to within an inch of its life, but close to flawless in both conception and execution. Outside of a large selection of generally unremarkable breads and a luke-warm roasted onion broth added to an amuse at table side that probably should have been hotter, the meal was simply one perfect dish after another. Maybe the sorbet intermezzo was a little old school in such a fashion forward meal, but - hey - it was delicious! Keep it.The room is suitably formal, luxurious in a traditional style, and quite comfortable. The pace of service might be a little leisurely for some (I ate alone and the four-course menu (seven + courses, including amuses, etc) pushed it a bit, stretching just over three hours. However, the friendly and attentive staff kept an eye out the entire time and stopped by if the time between courses presented the opportunity. The somm, in particular, was a great diversion, visiting from time to time to discuss the varied and interesting wines on offer. He provided useful insight into the outstanding selection of trocken Rieslings on the list. He guided me to a 2001 Burklin-Wolf GG that, at Eu 150, was both a great bottle of mature white and a tremendous value for a wine of this quality in this type of restaurant. (Good luck finding a white burgundy of this quality at this price at any multi-star restaurant - or at retail, for that matter.) He also suggested a wonderful German Pinot Noir by the glass that worked perfectly with the meat course and wasn't terribly expensive. The list is extensive, but not the tome you see at some restaurants, but don't be fooled - wine service at Haerlin is both a major plus and represents notable value in the context of multi-star restaurants.I'm not going to argue two-star vs three-star because that distinction often seems to be kind of mysterious (and tangentially related to the food), but I will say that this place certainly deserves two stars. I had just a flat-out great meal. If you can work in a visit, Haerlin should be high on your list."
