Good customer service. Reasonably priced wine tasting and snack food. Sat outside. Thankfully no one smoked. Fun afternoon.

Some of the Rhine's best wine is in Bacharach so we stop by Weingut karl Heidrich for some wine tasting. We get the Tower of Love wine tasting €14.50, which is a mixture of sweet and dry wine.

We got to try 5-6 different wines -- our favorites were definitely the whites whose vines we could see on the hill opposite us! We also had some pretzels, a great snack. Quite a cheap and tasty sit-down while it rained outside! Voir le carte

Stopped in around 2 in the afternoon and ordered a flight of local white wines. Also had bread and cheese plate. The total around € 20. The glasses were full and plenty enough wine for four to share. Delightful wine,food and delightful host.

Not your typical pork-infused menu. think of it as German Tapas, We had a flight of dry German wines and a number of cheese, sausage, and ham small plates, all of which were tasty, We sat at one of the outdoor tables tucked into an alley next to the store. We stopped here twice on our trip - once to do a wine tasting flight and once for a glass of wine to end the evening. In both cases the service was excellent and the atmosphere was really nice. This cute little gem of an eatery and wine outlet is on the main drag in Bacharach, but if you are not paying attention, you might miss it. The outside terrace is tucked into an alley and is usually busy. You can order regular meals as well as snack food while you sample some really good wine. Our server was a very sweet lady who have us excellent service. You can purchase bottles of wine once you have sampled enough. Sampling is done in sets of six. You can choose different wine themes to sample such as sweets, drys, reds etc. They also serve a very special treat- Riesling soup! Don't miss out on that in wine country!

I've been a guest here since about 1998 when I first visited on the recommendation of a hotel in town. I come back every chance I can, probably more than 25 times since the first visit. I love their wines, they are all of high quality and priced very fair. The food is wonderful, my favorites are the sauerkraut soup, the wine soup, and the lentil soup with two little sausages. I also love their meat platters with bread. Very good desserts, too! Service can be a bit slow especially when you want to pay, but hey, come on, relax and have another glass of wine and ask for the bill when you get that last glass. We stopped in Bacharach on our drive up the Rhine River and wanted to combine lunch and a wine tasting. This was a great stop for it. Plenty of (paid) parking right off the main road near the river. They have outdoor seating in this really adorable alley like area with grape vines growing across above head. Food was fine; we all seemed to just order Bratwurst and bread so we didn't necessarily dig into their menu. The wine tasting is a really great value. You get like a flight of 6 glasses. Be warned! The glasses look small but they fill them up. I was driving so didn't participate but my three friends got totally schnockered. They had all sorts of themes to choose from and my friends insist...
