We were at the restaurant for dinner. The service is top and very attentive. Great wines, good food, elegant atmosphere. But the price-performance ratio is not right. For these high prices, that certain something is missing...

We had a bad day our flight leaving Switzerland was cancelled. We checked into the hotel last minute and the staff were very helpful and accomodating. We had a lovely drink at the bar before dinner. Thank you for your help much appreciated. Peter and Zsofia.

In the hall /saloon nearby the common restaurant (international food at light higher prices than common food (but it is worth) there are many different presentations, such as shows, concerts (rock, blues and many more (see the programm in the internet). I am rather several time there. The sound-system is very good, and I would say not too loud, that your ears should suffer as in other places. Voir le carte

Very slow service in the bar, we had to wait a long time until someone came, then we waited a long time for the drinks even though there weren't many people left. Drinks were good though. Restaurant cozy, service good, food ok, but completely overpriced for what it is. E.g. 17. for a starter salad, shrimp cocktail (starter) 26. , Wiener Schnitzel 55. , steak 53. , mussels 45. etc. The prices are really a disgrace! I had the tartare, a mini portion for 45. and was not at all satisfied. Simply chopping up raw meat and seasoning it lightly isn't a real tartare... well I guess I won't be back :

Although I have stayed at Volkshaus earlier this year (March 2023 , the more I travelled both for work and leisure throughout the 2023, I wanted to leave a review for this hotel. To be honest, I wasn’t expecting much nor did I read up about the place prior to my stay. I booked via my usual hotel booking platform because I liked the photos, and needed relatively central. But we all know that 9 times out of 10 there is usually a massive disparity between fiction and reality : All I want to say I wish more wannabe hotelliers (yes, Im talking to you, Hotels with '5* ' I stayed at this year would come and stay at this place to learn about idea, design, construction, and its ' execution.
