"Had pizza the first day, quite allright but nothing special. Second day went back for a two course meal. Had a long hair fried with the tempura vegetables. Mentioned it to the waiter, who promptly went into the kitchen to sort out the problem. After that we were completely ignored by the staff. Upon requesting the bill 1/2 a liter of wine was charged instead of the ordered 1/4. When we discussed the problem with the hair the mood all changed. It was checked that all kitchen staff had short hair so the hair must have been from my wife. Quite impossible since aforementioned hair was deep fried with the meal. If handled differently they might have gotten another chance....but with poor hygiene and even poorer customer service I'll pass them by the next time."

"Un posto fiabesco in un luogo incantevole....tutto curato nei minimi particolari dal diffusore di essenze con cromoterapia,luci led nell idromassaggio,doccia con cromoterapia,lucine accese in tutta la stanza....x nn parlare dei petali di rosa sparsi ovunque e un eccezionale apericena romantico con tanto di bottiglia con cuoricini.....staff di una squisitezza unica...bravi bravi bravi.....superiore a ogni aspettativa"

"Bella sorpresa questo ristorantino. Sia i piatti che le pizze sono di ottima qualità. Luogo molto accogliente. D'inverno il camino rende la saletta ancora più accogliente. Il padrone di casa è molto cordiale così come il pizzaiolo. La pasta ai frutti di mare, le cozze e le pizze da provare... Ne vale veramente la pena!"

"Together with 3 friends, we booked lunch at this restaurant on a Monday, as our favourite restaurant, Rio Barbaira, is closed on Mondays. We chose a set menu at 28,50 euros which included a choice of antipasti, pasta, main course and dessert. The waitress asked us if we wanted still or sparkling water and whether a local red wine would be acceptable. We were never shown a wine list or informed of any prices for wine and water. We assumed these were included in the set menu (as they are at the Rio Barbaira) and were surprised to discover they were in fact extra charges on the bill, as was the coffee. (At the Rio Barbaira, you get a welcome cocktail, bottled water, wine, coffee and Limoncello all included in the set menu but, they are closed on Mondays). The owner served some Limoncello to another table with their coffee and then put the carafe containing the rest of the Limoncello on our table while we were still on the first course! Needless to say, we didn't touch it as it was no longer chilled by the time we ended our meal. Sitting on the terrace we were constantly disturbed by flies. As a last straw, when the bill arrived, we tried to pay by credit card only to be told they did not accept credit cards!! This was never mentioned when we arrived nor was it displayed anywhere! We had to scrape together the cash between us, much to my embarrassment. The only good thing to say about this restaurant is that the food is good and they are open on Mondays. The service however leaves much to be desired, so, needless to say, we did not leave a tip!"

"We went for lunch and found the large cavernous room spotless. The staff were charming, friendly and helpful, speaking Italian, French and English. The set menus are a good choice, we went for the 28€ menu which included an apéritif, 1/2 carafe of wine, coffee and water. The cured meats and cheese that accompanied the aperitif told us what to expect good food. The Antipasti was cooked to order. The deep fried courgette flowers were crisp, the stuffed pepper hot, there was pizza, courgette flan, stuffed vol au vent and a breadcrumbed meat potato ball. We were staring to struggle! The ravioli with thyme was the best ever, being light and delicate. The gnocchi with cepes declared a hit also. Tagliatelle with cepes was gone in no time. The weakest part of the meal was the meats. The rabbit joints in white wine and black olives were tasty but the presentation of the thinly sliced lamb and veal were identical and did not look very appetising at all. Lacked flavour. No wild boar available. The accompanying chips were crispy and hot, the salads fresh. Desserts are a must if you have room. Panacotta and ice cream all good as was the coffee. We chose a bottle of Barbera d'Alba at 12€ and were surprised that we could have this as part of our set menu allowance. Well done to the team. Be prepared to sit amongst coach loads of customers, it can be a bit noisy. No problem parking. From Ventimiglia pass through Dolce Aqua and take the small turn out of the town on the left towards Rocchette Nirvina."
