Excellent beer garden, lovely beer including the pub’s own ale. But let down by the surliest of staff. If you hate working a bank holiday, don’t work it!

Many pubs claim to offer good food but few do. 3 Chimneys most definitely does. We were very hungry so had 5 different starters between 3. All excellent. Fresh and well prepared. Mani courses all head and shoulders above most pub grub. Staff were friendly and immediately attentive without being over bearing. To top it all its a beautiful old pub with lovely garden and all ales straight from the cask. Do Sissinghurst Gardens first then come here for early dinner.

The staff were friendly helpful and efficient from the moment we arrived. We ordered drinks at the bar and they brought them to us once we had found a table outside in the attractive garden. Unlike another pub I visited recently we were provided with table service despite being outside with everything being put on a tab. We were bought blackboards with the menu on, ordered and the food arrived in reasonable time . Mains and deserts were all well prepared and very tasty. We were also able to order more drinks from the table. A member of staff even came to tell me to tell me I had left the lights on in my car! We called in early evening in thé off chance and were greeted warmly and given a choice of tables in the inner courtyard which we wanted. The menu was sufficiently varied and we shared a very fresh mackerel salad starter, followed by beautifully presented plaice fillet on spinach and crushed potatoes with pea and lettuce broth; my husband chose pork loin with savoy and Parmentier potatoes. Both mains were generous and cooked to perfection. We forced ourselves to share a large sized portion of sticky toffee pudding with good coffee alongside. The restaurant served us very good tasting Sauvignon blanc wine in glasses and we were pleasantly surprised to receive a very sensibly priced bill. We h... Voir le carte
