Third visit. We always book to avoid any disappointment of not being abke to get in. Fab food

Great value for money .Waitress excellent. Nothing too much trouble.Music quite loud but atmosphere good. Would book again

it was very quiet when we arrived at 8 then about 9 students came up and bar area got loud. it was ok I guess because they had a offer on cocktail 2 for 1

4/3/2017 for the first time visited for a birthday meal, sitting at the top in the bright, cozy dining area, eating was tasty and friendly and attentive, would definitely visit again.

Very angry, when I arrived they said they had not received my booking which was confirmed via the open table app. The restaurant was busy and no tables were free so we were told there is nothing they can do for us so we had to leave.

I had booked through open table for a meal with friends for my wife's birthday. When we got there, despite booking for 7, they insisted I had booked for 6. Despite me having proof through Open table! They'd clearly missed out booking since they then tried to put us on a table only large enough for 6 people which was reserved under a different name! Only after our insistence did put an extra table in. By this point we'd had enough so finished our drinks and left.

Average food, not presented very well my steak was just the steak and French fries on plate, didn't look very appetising. Had to ask and pay for a side salad which when it came was just lots of lettuce red onion and tomatoes. Some homemade chips would be better instead of thin white fries. Choc fudge brownie was good and starters OK. Chicken fajitas good and nice homemade pie. Very quiet for a Sat and this didn't lend itself to a great atmosphere although great if you want to chat. If you go for the set menu seems like a little less effort goes into the food. Wont be rushing back as nicer places to eat in York. Service was OK.

We booked the table via openTable not direct. I wish we had! They did know we were coming, unfortunately our table was not in the expected restaurant part as this was booked for a Christmas party, we were shown to our table by a very embarrassed person, the table was in the entrance hall of a very busy bar which was extreamly busy with Saturday night drinking parties and people standing all around us, this is not what I hoped or expected for my partners birthday meal! As we were extremely unhappy and uncomfortable in this situation we let the embarrassed member of staff know who also apologised and agreed it was bad situation and we left.
