The Windhover - Carte

This was once my go-to spot for business lunches, but the overall experience has declined recently because of unfriendly staff and a shortage of employees.

I recently visited this place and found the food to be delicious, with a wide variety of options. The pub itself is cozy and well-kept, exactly what you would expect from a pub.

My daughter and I had brunch here yesterday. I'm a fussy eater, however it was the best vegetarian breakfast I have ever tasted. Beetroot hash was lovely, we will definitely be back, Thankyou Voir le carte

very much improved. over the years the windhover has had its ups and downs but as of today the food we ate was delicious and highly recommended. great atmosphere and very busy this pub has always been a local favourite. delicious food and great staff

Had meal there a few days ago and enjoyed. Today, No food being served unless you book on app. Tried on app and it says fully booked. Really? I think they were short staffed and used app to close out to food. Literally the place was empty. Disappointed. Next time just say short staffed

Fantastic food. Great service. Lovely country pub. Would 100% recommended making a visit to The Windhover. Such a lovely pub with wood fires and an all-round good atmosphere. The windhover, Brampton Lane, Chapel Brampton, Northampton. This is a McManus pub, it’s very pleasing on the eye. It definitely looks the part. I feel like you need to drive here, as it’s a bit out of the way.. although it has a lot of passing traffic. This is a very dog friendly pub. Lots of dog biscuits and dog bowls of water are available. Which is why we visited here. I don’t think I’ll be a returning customer. The food was expensive, it was served quickly, but unfortunately it was very hot. The plate of food looked impressive. But the content wasn’t very good. Nobody came back to ask us if our food was ok. Awful experience today. We came here for Sunday Dinner a couple of years ago and it wasn't good, food nor service, but having seen it had been refurbished and a new menu, we decided to try it again today for lunch and give it another go. Wish we hadn't. Artisan breads were completely stale. Got given more but were still stale, just hotter than the first lot where they'd been heated up. My husband ordered the pulled beef hash, which had literally about 3 strands of beef, the rest was just potato and egg. After complaining, we were told the chef said that was the right amount he'd given as they're limited on how much to give and need to portion it out. This meal was just under £9. My fish fing...

The last time I visited here was for lunch before the latest refurb, so decided to visit again for an evening meal. We booked a table for 8pm on Saturday evening. On arrival it was busy at the bar and had to wait a while for someone to arrive to seat us at a table. The restaurant wasn't busy at all and had a choice of tables to sit at. We ordered drinks and the waitress was very pleasant, professional with a warm smile. We ordered one pate and a side bread to share between the three of us. It was plenty albeit the pate portion was on the small side. For mains two of us ordered the Forestiére Chicken Breast, stuffed with spinach mozzarella, wrapped in pancetta with a wild mushroom sauce serve... Voir le carte
