"I didn 't actually eat inside the resteraunt. Myself and a friend had actually heard of the resteraunt and thought we should drop by to have a look. The interior is furnished well and appears to be a well running establishment. My friend and I found ourselves needing a toilet, and , seeming as many areas were shutting, we thought to combine the drop for a W/C to scout for a future reservation. Before entering the toilets, I indeed politely asked a staff member to use the toilets. It is a free country, but manners should never be in short supply. They were happy with it. We went ahead, and on our exit, we checked the specials. Then, when exiting, another member of staff delivered a quick, backhanded comment. I was struck by them not even looking me in the face at least look me in the face! 'For future reference, the toilets here are only available to paying customers. ' The message was apt enough, yet the way she said it was filled with distain as though we were staining her establishment. You must never make future costumers feel like they are below you. I originally thought her to be a member of the public I never would have guessed her to be staff. No one else was dining at that moment in the resteraunt. I gave a short reply, and left, not wanting to bother with useless conversation. I later realised I had not told her we had asked to use the facilities and had not merely just barged in with antisocial behaviour on our minds. Perhaps my fault, then; a misunderstanding. But I was struck that she wasn 't more cooperative, as we had evidently asked, and were sure she must have heard. Well, some people are just difficult. Perhaps she was having a bad day, in a mediocre mood, and I hardly blame her for trying to uphold her establishment. But her crude and unfriendly manner disgruntled my friend, and has now resulted in him not wanting to return. We won 't. Money missed out on for them, thanks to the lack of hindsight by a bitter and overzealous staff member. Think before you speak. Communication obviously is not present at this resteraunt, and no doubt if she repeats such behaviour, her customers will decrease exponentially. I am sure, however, that the food is great. My friend had apologised; later, I told him not to apologise unless you have actually done something wrong!"

3rd visit this year and the food and drink were great as always exceptional service for a busy lunchtime. Level Head IPA was cool and refreshing. We'll be back

Lovely food, but a shame about the rude landlady needs some Christmas cheer… asked about undercooked food and was dismissed that she knows better. Spoilt our day.

We all enjoyed our lunch, food was delicious, love the vegan main and the vegan desert. The only downside was that I couldn’t enjoy a coffee as only cows milk was available, no oat milk or soya. Otherwise would have given 5 stars Voir le carte

Fabulous meal today. 8 of us dining 6 adults and 2 children. All meals were great, they all came out at the same time and were hot and tasty, staff were very friendly and attentive and nothing was too much trouble for them, will definitely go back.

Wow . We, as a family decided to have Christmas Dinner out this year. The Waterfront didn't disappoint, with my Dad declaring it was the best Turkey he'd ever had. Well done to the whole team, you catered and bent over backwards to accommodate our requests. The food and atmosphere were just perfect. Merry Christmas

Went in for the quiz, a lot of fun and well looked after. Very friendly staff and the nachos my wife had were in her words the best she's had. Just moved in to the area so looking forward to some summer evening visits there and a chance to sit outside. Will definately go again, even if it's to try to beat our third place hoodoo : Voir le carte

I went to the waterfront last year and asked the woman/manager behind the bar if dogs were allowed. The answer was a stern, NO! I thought to myself, how rude! How difficult is it to add the word SORRY! Anyway, reluctantly I called in last Saturday eve and asked if I can have two coffee's. Guess what, the answer was a NO with an attitude! I know so many people who have said that they won't ever go back there because the woman/thing behind the bar is soooooooo rude! I really don't know how this place makes any money! You can't even take your dog and sit out the back!!! Unbelievable!!!

Well, we took my Dad out for a meal today after We travelled from Milton Keynes for a day with my dad, my wife, sister and brother-in-law. I searched the internet for somewhere nice to eat in Diss and Trip Advisor came up with this place. Wow, what a great pub and restaurant with an excellent menu and selection of drinks. Four of us went for the Sirloin beef Sunday lunch and one had the Steak and ale pie The portions were just right, the beef was gorgeous with a great selection of veg and a very large Yorkshire Pudding. The one who had the steak and ale pie said it was fantastic. The staff (I think her name was Sarah was brilliant and seemed to enjoy her job made us all feel very welcome and...
