"The Wallflower Cafe is Herne Bay’s little secret. You probably wouldn’t stumble across it because it’s tucked away, but if you are visiting the town then you should seek it out. They have a great variety of vegan dishes, so many it’s hard to chose what to have. Lin and I both choose the homemade burger and chips. Chunky chips with their skin on and a burger with flavours of onion bhajis what could be better? It’s very popular and has limited seating so you may have to wait to get a table, but I guarantee that the wait will be worth it. We visited several years ago before they became fully vegan, but now it’s going to be a regular stop because there’s a lot of dishes on the menu to get through. The service was friendly and faultless and all the hot food is cooked from scratch , no zapping in a microwave."

So happy to have this little gem as my local cafe. Good menu choice of savoury meals plus cakes. For me also a great choice of GF options. Always happy to introduce my non vegan friends to the cafe. It is tucked away so misses out on passing trade

I ate here today (11 September 2021). I had trouble finding it but it was well worth the effort. There was a great choice of vegan meals, smoothies and cakes and the staff and atmosphere were lovely. Lovely, quaint cafe tucked away on the High Street (back enterance through the Herne Bay Leisure Centre car park). Prices are good as portion sizes are filling and everything is made fresh. Menu available for takeaway in sturdy biodegradable packaging. Staff are lovely and friendly. Fresh cakes are posted on their Facebook page. I've eaten here with my boyfriend numerous times even if just for a smoothie and cake but the mushroom and hoisin wrap is my favourite or the pancakes with mixed berries. There's a cute collared dove nesting outside above the security light too.

We came here for lunch after seeing the information on Happycow. It’s a relatively small cafe with about five tables but luckily there was one empty. There are plenty of choices and we had a hard time deciding. We ended up ordering the bubble squeak and The Wallflower Rarebit, which came with some chips and salad garnish. We ordered a couple milkshakes too I ended up with a smoothie which was probably better nutrition wise. Anyways, we would come here again if we had more time the cakes looked good too. It’s handy to have the car park right next to it but beware, Google maps will try to take you around to the high street where you might miss it as there’s an antique shop and beautician on th...

"After never visiting Canterbury before we where looking for somewhere to have a late lunch, we came across this place which looked ok, upon entering the back room we were offered to take a seat in the front area and someone will be with us. We asked what food there was and we where sarcastically shown the food on the blackboard, after choosing what we wanted the polite man went off and put the order in. We did feel that because the man had asked a couple of questions to another member of staff that he was spoke down too a bit. Anyway after placing the order and what we wanted the food came out it wasn’t correct but because it seemed like we were going to interrupt the people in the back room we just took what we had. It was nice food though. When we went to pay we hadn’t noticed that there wasn’t a price list so when we asked for the bill we were told that it was donation, what we thought was enough, it wasn’t posted anywhere and it took us by surprise as we where standing at the till, I was going to pay in cash but was told they don’t take cash so I had to give my donation in card by telling the person how much we where donating. After plucking a figure out of air as we wasn’t prepared we paid and left. Upon leaving we felt that the person we paid thought we hadn’t paid enough and wasn’t happy with the amount but after working out what we would have paid properly we worked out that we had paid more than what it might have been if there was a proper price on everything. Overall it has a great ethos and it’s great for giving people the experience that they need to be in a working environment but they need to show the price or tell customers first that it’s donations and card only."
