"Lovely restaurant serving classic French cuisine in cosy countryside village decor. Ample choice on the menu, with many daily specials. The dishes were very well executed and service traditionally formal. Large portion sizes for all dishes ordered, making three courses perhaps a little much in terms of quantity. "We had a lovely dining experience at this restaurant last night to celebrate our anniversary. The traditional service was top-quality, and we were warmly greeted upon arrival. The dining room was small and cozy, with tables spaced out nicely. The three-course meal for £60 per person was great value. The scallops and halibut were cooked to perfection, and the homemade mini loaves were a delicious touch. My husband enjoyed the chicken pate and guinea fowl and pheasant dishes. The side vegetables were also delicious. We took a break before dessert, which was a rare treat for us, but we enjoyed every bite. The locally sourced champagne paired well with the lemon curd and meringue, as well as the ginger sponge and root cream. We left feeling full and happy, and are already looking forward to returning. Thank you for a memorable celebration with excellent attention to detail, service, and friendliness."

"We decided to drop in for a last-minute Sunday lunch and were pleasantly surprised by the efficient and friendly service. The staff quickly cleaned and set a table for us, and we were delighted by the delicious sea bass tagliatelle with crab. The entire team worked smoothly together, providing excellent food and service. Overall, we give the food and drinks an excellent rating, the service a 5, and the location a 5."

"Stayed here for a few days to visit the Cotswolds villages and relax by the river. Our room was spacious, spotlessly clean and comfortable...had everything we needed. The bathroom...although a little ‘tired’...was spacious and functional, especially Important when 2 women are sharing...plenty of shelving for all our ‘stuff’. Our room (no 9) had a balcony with table and chairs which overlooked the River Severn. Fabulous view to wake up to each morning and great to sit with a cuppa to watch the boats go by, bliss. We ate each evening in the restaurant, great choice, spacious room, tasty food and excellent service. There are a couple of pubs nearby (we thought we would make use of them if the food wasn’t up to much) but we did not need to, the food was delicious. We also made use of the onsite pub and enjoyed a few cocktails. We would highly recommend this super place...fabulous location, efficient friendly staff and a great price."

"We haven 't been our for Sunday lunch for years but as pescatarians we found plenty to suit us on the menu here. My carnivorous parents (in their eighties) on the other hand, eat out regularly and are always keen to critique a roast dinner. They commented as we sat down that The waitress is on the ball, which was a very good sign. Indeed, there were plenty of staff all equally friendly, efficient and helpful. My parents both agreed that their roast beef was beautiful tender, perfectly cooked and plentiful. So much so that Mother wanted to know which butcher it came from, so that she could get some too. My father commented that it was a shame that the beef was piled (albeit very prettily and topped with peashoots) on top of the roast potatoes, which were soggy not crisp. However, the side dish of vegetables looked fabulous and I think that the cauliflower cheese made up for his disappointment. Aside from the roasts, I enjoyed my smoked salmon and feta salad, which was tasty and plentiful. My husband chose the 5 bean chilli with a flatbread (if I remember rightly) and salsa, and a side of salad too and although his meal would have been more practical on a plate than in multiple dishes perched on a narrow wooden board the food was good. We all chose desserts. I had the bread and butter pudding (really indulgent and delicious) and my husband had sorbet. My parents both went for the rum glazed fresh pineapple; Mum 's was very boozy but Dad 's was not so. I paid the bill on my card but left the tip to my parents, knowing they were not expecting me to pay. Unfortunately it turned out that they didn 't have much cash on them, so we mustered a pile of change and far less of a tip than the fabulous team deserved. Sorry about that but we hope that this review will make up for it. We all had a wonderful meal and the service was top notch. We should go out for Sunday lunch more often!"
