"We haven 't been our for Sunday lunch for years but as pescatarians we found plenty to suit us on the menu here. My carnivorous parents (in their eighties) on the other hand, eat out regularly and are always keen to critique a roast dinner. They commented as we sat down that The waitress is on the ball, which was a very good sign. Indeed, there were plenty of staff all equally friendly, efficient and helpful. My parents both agreed that their roast beef was beautiful tender, perfectly cooked and plentiful. So much so that Mother wanted to know which butcher it came from, so that she could get some too. My father commented that it was a shame that the beef was piled (albeit very prettily and topped with peashoots) on top of the roast potatoes, which were soggy not crisp. However, the side dish of vegetables looked fabulous and I think that the cauliflower cheese made up for his disappointment. Aside from the roasts, I enjoyed my smoked salmon and feta salad, which was tasty and plentiful. My husband chose the 5 bean chilli with a flatbread (if I remember rightly) and salsa, and a side of salad too and although his meal would have been more practical on a plate than in multiple dishes perched on a narrow wooden board the food was good. We all chose desserts. I had the bread and butter pudding (really indulgent and delicious) and my husband had sorbet. My parents both went for the rum glazed fresh pineapple; Mum 's was very boozy but Dad 's was not so. I paid the bill on my card but left the tip to my parents, knowing they were not expecting me to pay. Unfortunately it turned out that they didn 't have much cash on them, so we mustered a pile of change and far less of a tip than the fabulous team deserved. Sorry about that but we hope that this review will make up for it. We all had a wonderful meal and the service was top notch. We should go out for Sunday lunch more often!"

Another great Sunday lunch, our party of ten were well looked after by the friendly attentive servers. The food was wonderful, everyone was served promptly so that we could eat together. A thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Went to the Bell for some drinks with the lads. Prices were reasonable for a village pub. The staff, especially the lady that served us behind the bar, Becky were so friendly. What an atmosphere. Enjoyed it so much we've made it a regular stop. Had a banging pizza too!

Fabulous place to be and the staff are second to none,we always visit for Sunday lunch which is amazing !! We had our daughters 17th birthday there and they were so accommodating I can't tell you! Honestly pay this place a visit and you won't be disappointed.... I have photos

An anniversary dinner last night. What a treat! The staff were so accommodating, so kind and caring to a vulnerable regular- it was heart warming to see : The food was different Not your bog standard menu and delicious! Presentation was superb and every course had us smiling. We will be back for more- what a hidden treasure!

Needed somewhere to stay for the night as attending a wedding locally. Hosts could not be more accommodating as we added an extra person so 3 of us sharing a room. We had the large family room and so a large double bed and double sofa bed in the room with ample room for all. Everything was spotless! Breakfast was included in the cost and well needed after a late night delicious.

Loved the pub. The staff were fabulous. Had a lovely meal in the pretty garden a great breakfast. Sadly, the trip was spoilt by very little sleep. I've never slept on a bed that is so hard. We travel a lot and have never experienced such a rock hard mattress. We both felt awful in the morning. I know you can't please everyone with a mattress type, but this one really needs changing. (Room 5) Sad as we'd have stopped here again on our travels back from Cornwall.

Six adults and two dogs from Sunderland, Northampton and Kent met here before heading to our canal boat holiday. We sat in the spacious garden where we could see covered and open seating, a large kids play area, and the dogs were very welcome. Most of us chose the toasted ciabatta sandwiches and they were substantial. Lovely thick slices of beef or ham and plenty of bacon, brie and cranberry. One person had battered cod and chips and thoroughly enjoyed it. We were supposed to meet at a different pub, but it suffered a power outage that day. That was to our benefit as we really enjoyed our lunch at The Bell

I had been told this was a good place to visit. By chance we ended up passing near to The Bell. I was happy to give it a try when my partner suggested lunch might be a good idea. We had Lily our dog with us. I asked if they could manage a couple of people for lunch with a well behaved dog under the table. We were made very welcome. The lunch menu was limited and had two courses for £12.95. My partner chose a main course of beetroot risotto and apple crumble to follow. I tasted both and they were delicious. Very very disappointed we booked after looking at menu on line we were all decided on what we wanted which was the set menu. On getting to restaurant it was very quiet only two other tables being used for dining, after looking at menu found out the meal deal is no longer available they had not updated website. Very limited option for food . We were a party of four out celebrating some really good news and yet the food spoilt our evening.
