"On January 13th, 2024, my party of four (two couples) visited ICE restaurant at 12:30 pm. We were excited to try out this establishment after finding it online. Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. The nachos for starters had a poor cheese sauce, soggy chips, and were only saved by the pulled pork. Our main courses - which included sirloin, an open steak sandwich, and two chicken burgers - were also subpar. The steak on the sandwich was undercooked, the sirloin was cold and poorly prepared, and one of the chicken burgers was served cold while the other had raw chicken meat. When we addressed these issues with the waitress, she argued about the color of the chicken meat in the burgers and reluctantly replaced them with similarly cold dishes. To top it off, the Eaton mess sundae was lacking in quality, with just one small meringue and frozen raspberries. We had high hopes for ICE but the food and service fell short, ultimately leaving us disappointed. Despite the nice atmosphere, we will not be returning. "Really nice little location and the coffee house is a lovely little cafe with purchasable artwork on the walls. Home made sausage rolls and scotch eggs and cakes which look absolutely appealing! Other hot dishes available such as bacon sandwiches and breakfasts etc. Today, I purchased the bacon butty, tea, scotch egg, americano coffee and eggs and bacon. £16 My girlfriend called the black americano as average but the eggs were nice. I had the bacon sandwich and the scotch egg. The scotch egg was lovely and warm. The bacon sandwich and the bacon on my girlfriends plate was terrible. Barely under the grill which is just a preference of choice but we could not eat it at all. Very fatty too. Whilst this is just an observation and a personal choice as well as the fact I’m in service myself, when handing back the plates, the waitress asked if everything was ok. She didn’t take note of the bacon sandwich being given back pretty much untouched or offered an alternative or even re-done! Again, just my own personal observation and how I’d do things differently but certain makes you think did I get value for money. The obvious answer is no. Whilst the staff seem nice, the food could be better. All I’d say to the staff who work here is maybe take a little time to listen to feedback and see if the customer is happy. Either a refund on an item or an alternative dish. Anyway, it’s £16; I get it’s not a lot but I’ve left the cafe still hungry. Thank you The Coffee House for your time."

"I was completely captivated by my experience at the restaurant. The food was absolutely amazing! I had the rib burger with chips and relish, which was fantastic—more like a massive piece of heaven on a plate. My daughter ordered the plowers, which were huge and loaded with ham, cheese, and a variety of relish and salad appetizers. The chips were enormous; I felt like I was floating in the clouds! They were perfectly crunchy on the outside and soft and succulent on the inside. Yes, yes! We finished off with coffee since the meals were quite filling. I highly recommend this place and can’t wait to return!"

"The hotel is a charming old manor house that has been converted into a three-star hotel. It boasts an impressive entrance, a good location, and plenty of potential. We booked four rooms for two nights in the main house. In its prime, this place must have been fantastic, full of character and old-world charm. However, it currently feels a bit worn out and is in need of some repairs and tender loving care, both inside and out. The showers were hit or miss; they took a long time to warm up, and at times, the water pressure was disappointingly low. The lighting in the bedrooms could be improved, and some guests found the beds uncomfortable. Additionally, housekeeping could definitely pay more attention to detail. Despite these drawbacks, the hotel has a lot of potential and would benefit from a refurbishment that restores its original features. We've heard that it has recently been under new management, with plans to increase the number of rooms and build leisure facilities. So, there's definitely promise for the future. Even with these issues, we would consider staying here again. It's a lovely old property, the staff were incredibly friendly, and the food was both appealing and delicious. "We ordered a steak sirloin dinner, a rump steak dinner, calamari and beer battered mushrooms via deliveroo for our anniversary date night for 645pm delivery. We received completely the wrong order, after numerous calls to deliveroo and ember inns we finally got through to be told that our food was still at the pub and we need to now come and collect as deliveroo wont come, like it was our fault. On getting home our food was not only cold, the portion sizes were very small and the beer battered mushrooms were tasteless. We at least expected the food to be redone as we were now coming out of our way to get our own food, we may aswell have booked a table but can't as we have young children. Awful experience and ruined what should have been a great celebratory night."
