"We have been here to eat a few times over the years and so thought we’d stay overnight. However, the hotel is clearly understaffed although the staff there were working hard and were very welcoming. Our room had a new bathroom and some basic redecoration...but the furniture was old and shabby. The wardrobe doors didn’t shut easily, the bed head was broken. Although we realised that this is an older building, and that could be part of its charm, generally the whole hotel felt tired and in need of refurbishment and updating. The bar, gardens and restaurant were comfy and clean, our evening meal was nice enough and breakfast was adequate."

had the most delicious vegan hot dog, followed by vegan brownie and chocolate ice cream. would recommend them! the three salmon now have a vegan and gluten-free menu to choose from

Went for lunch, didn’t book. Just turned up. Ate salmon salad in the garden which was absolutely beautiful. The app is easy to use, ordered a lovely grapefruit gin. Beautiful garden, just a lovely experience

Had a fabulous stay, big thank you to Helen and all the team, made to feel so welcome and above all Covid safe. Food during the day and breakfast absolutely delicious and plentiful, no one could do enough for us. Highly recommended

Came for dinner with my mother i had the sea bass she had the steak. both cooked to perfection with plenty of flavours she usually moans about steak but she loved it thank god would definitely come again and recommend very reasonable priced chips...were spot on

family meal for small children fantastic menu. squid, suppe and rare selection for our table bark meat, lamb, turkey and fish for net everything was gorgeous! my long evening dinner was huge and I've never seen him eat a fry. I recommend coming here. we were a few times and never disappointed.

many thanks to all those who were very attentive to our needs. eating was excellent, including the presentation. the sandwiches were very fresh and the fillings lovely. a nice touch is to be able to take home. the cakes they don't make to eat! excellent tee and coffee. would highly recommend to others.

Previously eaten in the restaurant before covid and had very good food. Disappointed with today's outdoor BBQ food. Visited with family , the outdoor area had been done up lovely. Unfortunately the food was really poor. I ordered a veggie burger with fries/ salad. It...was a very sad burger , tasted like a cheap frozen bean burger that had been deep fried and was tasteless. A few chips , of tomato and a piece of salad in a box set me back
