Hoping to enjoy a quality Sunday lunch. Overcooked burnt Yorkshire pudding spoiled the meal. We are in Yorkshire for God sake!! Other diners had the same issue.

this restaurant is excellent. the food was absolutely delicious and the service was as good as it will. the waiter was always there to hide the weinglas when it was low.

First time here, excellent food, service and staff were 5*. Seafood platter was something special, I had Sunday roast beef and it was mouth watering. Best lunch/meal I’ve had in Whitby, I/we will defiantly return

enjoys our appetizers, although the fish and chips, where very disappointing. batter was poor, fish was really, really hot in comparison to lukewarm chips. we informed the waiting staff when they asked how our meal was. the personal was friendly and attentive. I wouldn't cost so much for what you got.

We received a lovely warm welcome. Great table with a view of the harbour, really nice relaxed atmosphere. We shared the Salt Pepper squid to start delicious then the cod with skinny fries so crispy the mixed veg cooked just right! We enjoyed our meal so much, we booked again for the following evening.

What a gorgeous place decorated so lovely the staff are amazing and so helpful and the seafood platter is that good we came on Sunday Father’s Day and had to come back on the Wednesday so my husband could have the seafood platter too as he had the roast on Sunday I raves about it so much he had to come back it’s a lovely place you won’t regret going we can’t wait to go back

I booked the Star Inn for my husbands 50th birthday on a Sunday evening. We didn't realise that the menu was more limited on a Sunday so when my husband said he fancied the surf n turf but it wasn't on the menu, he was disappointed. He mentioned this to the waiter who instantly went and asked the chef if he could do it. The answer was Yes, so that made Hub very happy The service and food was amazing. Thank you to all the staff for making it such a lovely dining experience!!
