"Discovered this place by accident whilst boating up the Grand Union canal, mooring up by the lock and walking up the lane to the shops. What an utter gem; a spotlessless clean old school curry house with an immaculate interior and cosy dining booths. We were waited upon by the charming proprietor, who's owned the business since 1980. The menu is massive and all tastes are catered for. The arrival of two bottles of ice cold Kingfisher beers boded well, and was soon backed up by the arrival of popadums and copius chalices of pickles and sauces not the homeopathic portions so common nowadays. My mixed grill starter of Tandoori chicken, tikkas and kebab was the size of a main course and delicious. Mains of chicken dansak, and biriyani with veggie curry, supported by saag aloo and peshwari naan duly filled the table. It was a magnificent feast; we couldn't finish it, so it was helpfully doggie bagged and enjoyed the following evening. How this quality of food can be presented at this very affordable price point is amazing. We will certainly be paying our respects again on our return journey.
