Had a most enjoyable bank holiday evening meal. Service was excellent, Tim was out waiter, very knowledgeable, really friendly service and beautiful meal.

Had a lovely experience. Called in for a drink whilst out on a country walk. Lovely surroundings and really friendly staff. The only reason I'm not giving it five stars was the cost of drinks, which is well above average local prices. I would still recommend a visit though.

Myself and husband popped in spontaneously, given it looked nice from the roadside. The decor and situate of the pub was really lovely and the staff were very polite and extremely helpful. Sadly, the meal let the place down, it was awful. The chips were overly salted to the point they were inedible, and the cold raw salmon toastie was awful. I did make mention of the excessive salt to the staff but sadly we still got charged the 10% extra for the experience, which was a little naughty given a complaint had been made about the salty food. Had the meal been spot on, it would have been a lovely place to go as it really is a beautiful pub.

We found this place quite by accident whilst walking from Harrogate to Almscliffe Crag. It'd gotten later than we envisioned and we wanted to get some food before it became too late, so we rocked up without a reservation on Easter Sunday and they were so nice as to find us a table right away. Sunday roast was all around us and looked really impressive! But since we weren't too hungry we ordered the soup of the day, prawn cocktail and a sharing platter with hummus and olives for the two. It was all truly delicious and the coffee was very nice too.
