Excellent atmosphere. Very nice, approachable and profesional staff. The best fish and chips I’ve ever had. The pub to go to in Croydon if you want to experience real pub atmosphere and cosy traditional pub interior.

I visited this pub for a quick drink and lunch, but I have been here many times before. The food is good and they have a nice selection of beers. It's the perfect spot to relax on a summer day outdoors. I will definitely be coming back soon.

The change of ownership has done nothing to diminish the quality of the pub. It retains all the fine woodwork, a good selection of quality beer, and a decent menu of typical pub food. There are few enough pubs in the centre of Croydon these days, and even fewer good ones. The Spread Eagle is both relaxed charming, retaining the spirit of the old bank of its early days, with beer food at a reasonable price. It's my goto place when I need a good pint. Voir le carte

The place is very nice, select, the staff is ok! We served fish and chips but it was not what we expected! First of all, the fish was not cod, the crust of the fish was a little raw on the inside, the crushed peas had too many herbs, the sauce had too much vinegar! Compared to another restaurant where I served the same food but at a price 2 times lower...it was not excellent at all, it was much better at George's! Maybe other types of food are better...that's all we tried!

I had a very negative experience at this restaurant. I had booked a table for four at 2 p.m. to spend a relaxed afternoon with friends. When we arrived, we were seated at our reserved table and ordered drinks and food. However, after half an hour, a staff member rudely informed us that we had to move in five minutes because our table was reserved for a party of twelve at 3 p.m. despite the fact that we had booked the table. When we explained this, we were told it was a miscommunication with the staff. Despite all other tables being occupied, we were not given any alternative options. Eventually, a kind gentleman offered us his table when he was leaving. We ended up spending almost four hours...

However, even though we were shown to our reserved table and had already ordered drinks and food, we were abruptly told after half an hour that we needed to move because the table was actually reserved for a party of twelve at 3 p.m. Despite the fact that no other tables were reserved, the staff member insisted that it was a miscommunication and was very rude about the situation.
