"Every time I’ve been here.. granted it’s four occasions between last July and this July, there has been some excuse to why they won’t serve food. It’s 6pm, Tuesday evening during school holidays. Never know a pub that serves food what just hates making money. Well these must because they give any reason not to cook for guests. This place would be a gold mine if it was ran properly. Embarrassing .. or maybe I’m unlucky and picked the wrong four times to visit. There won’t be a fifth .."

My second time eating here as my mum has moved to Millom , always friendly helpful staff , excellent food , nice bar and when it’s sunny it’s lovely to sit outside with views over the lake , Highly recommend

Great venue. Nice food. Let down by unfriendly staff. It was obvious that the staff were friendlier and more interactive with regulars. This was observed over a period of 2 hours. Shame as it was off-putting as a first timer using the bar.

Food was lovely and piping hot. Nice little place with a lovely atmosphere. Special shout out to Aiden, made me a special cocktail for my birthday, a special pizza for vegetarian daughter because they had no veggie meatballs and was just a nice happy friendly guy, credit to the place : Voir le carte

Great waterside location, expected rushed service with dodgy food. Wrong, immediate fussy service and I had the mother of steak pies, full of falling apart steak. I have had a lot of pies and this was a champ. £14 for a giant plate with crispy big chips. Next time I'm here I'll be back

What a lovely bar this is , we ate lunch once and dinner twice. I do advise to book though. The staff are so chatty and friendly and the views from outside to the sea inlet are lovely. I loved watching people having fun on the inflatables and paddle boards. Dog friendly too and loads of water bowls around for the dogs.Prices for food are reasonable considering the locality.

I’ve been here several times and always enjoyed the food and the service, always excellent. This week my little puppy became unwell and I wanted to make him some toast to settle his tummy but I had no butter as I’d not brought anything with me. Our lovely bar attendant, Brian got me some butter for little Dougie to have some food and get better as he now has. Thank you Brian, little things make all the difference. Tried the Ski Bar out after hearing good feedback about it , nice surroundings, friendly helpful staff , excellent service , It’s dog friendly which is lovely too. I had the scampi and chips which was very tasty and plenty of it , my mum had the meat free burger which she said was yummy , we both had a dessert ,strawberry gateau and the cheese cake , no pics as it got eaten straight away, both yummy , highly recommend a visit , will definitely be back

We were checking out the area visited these guys for tea cake. The bar had a queue, but when I asked a lady about hot drinks we were asked to take a seat she'd look after us. My laminated menu could have done with a clean, there was a decent selection of food but next to no veggie options. I went for an oat milk hot chocolate a piece of vegan lemon cake which were both fab. The prices were pretty decent too considering that this was the only cafe we could find.
