"we met with our two young children at lunchtime at a visit to new romney. the waitress who served us had an abrupt attitude and it seemed what we asked of her was an angry one. we ordered bree broken cadry baskets that were £9 and, quite honestly, the money was not worth. they were fish fingers and a few pommes. when we visited a few months ago, I remember how their meals were great worth for money unfortunately, that is no longer the case with the new menu in place. it brings us to the visit in the future."

Best Gammon steak we have had for a long time. Food nicely presented, very pleasant staff. Would definitely recommend for a meal. Update 2023- food remains top class.

Dropped in on a rare trip to the area. Beer kept well, the menu was limited and all choices were tasty. Not a lot of atmosphere, but maybe it was a quiet day with it being Rememberance Day. Service: 5 Location: 5

Disappointing service having to remind the staff what we ordered three times. Being overcharged for drinks we didn 't have. The shower being a 'Dribble '.. The best thing about the stay was the comfy bed.. It was the bed that helped the star rating.. Shame really.. Rooms: 3 Service: 1 Location: 4

The Ship Hotel is a historical inn with comfortable rooms and good food and drink. I had an enjoyable stay, my room was comfortable and well-decorated. The staff were friendly and helpful. They serve a good range of food including an excellent choice of breakfast. Watch out for low ceilings and doorways which are a reminder of the historical nature of the building! Rooms: 4
