The Seagate Appledore North Devon

We arrived at the restaurant on a busy Sunday lunchtime, but the owner took the time to welcome us. We were able to find a table and were served promptly. The food and service were both excellent.

We had several meals here during our stay, the food is great and service excellent. We arrived one evening a downpour with three wet dogs and they could not do enough to help get them dry (and us) and settled. Thanks to everyone there for some great memories. Voir le carte

The service at this restaurant is very welcoming and the menu offers a variety of tasty pub style dishes. The room at Quay for one night was extremely comfortable, with plenty of extra amenities and all the necessary facilities. I would definitely recommend this place.

Sunday lunch! Wow, just had the most fabulous Sunday lunch, one roast chicken and one roast gammon. Both were absolutely fabulous with incredible Yorkshire pudding roast potatoes and vegetables. Staff and service was excellent! Just wish it was a lot nearer home and would be a regular!! Very impressed. Thankyou

We visited for Sunday lunch, and had a wonderful meal. The restaurant was very busy but the food came out quickly and was of excellent quality. Our waiter Jamie was brilliant really friendly and attentive. The manager was also extremely welcome and kind. Great food and service, we’ve never been disappointed at the Seagate! Voir le carte

The atmosphere was pleasant and the menu prices were reasonable, but unfortunately, I was unable to get any salad dressing other than mayonnaise. I assumed that mustard, lemon, olive oil, or balsamic vinegar would be available in the kitchen. The staff were friendly and working hard on a busy Saturday night, but overall I was a bit disappointed. Perhaps my expectations were too high.

Recent family meal for six of us. I felt the menu was pricey with just shredded cabbage and hard new potatoes served with a very small fillet of sea bass. They were clearly over stretched with just one server for a busy lunchtime, who was great but unfortunately had forgotten to take our order, so we waited nearly an hour before we ate our meal, not his fault at all. Disappointing I’m afraid.

From the outside, we both thought the venue looked uninspiring, basic seating outside and a fairly plain building frontage... could benefit from some creativity from an exteriors expert. However, once we entered the pub for lunch, the service and general appearance and ambiance was top drawer.... staff were happy to see us, happy to serve us, happy to recommend. I had a v good pint of Otter, my wife a large NZ Sauv Blanc.... not the cheapest option, but bothe lovely. Food, well, my wife had the Moules... plenty of them, two good wedges of sourdough and skinny fries to help with the liquor at the bottom of the pan.. £18.50.
