"where do I start? the staff are friendly, eating is amazing and everyone is so welcoming! the bar staff during the day went the extra mile to help us how we literally in the middle of nowhere in our hotel. alan sorted taxis for us and could not do enough to help, caz. Now she went this extra mile to help us, let us feel so welcome, she was very friendly and when they talk to her, it feels like they had met her for a long time! She is a credit to the pub and she and alan really work together to ensure that everyone meets and happy and their needs. we wanted to go to the quays for our evening meal, but soon our plans changed and went back. eating is excellent! my partner had filet steak and I can recommend the smoked cajau in pancetta on a bed of seafood risotto. just amazing! the prizes are a bit high, but they get what they pay and was worth every penny! a visit is a must if they are in the opposite! many thanks to caz and alan that they come to our retreat!"

we had a wonderful lunch mahusive burger with gloucester blue melt, and chunky fries together with a pint £10 great worth. warm by a crisp fire and served by extremely attentive staff. highly recommended.

Exceptional food and the staff are really lovely and friendly. Great atmosphere and we appreciate that it is dog friendly, particularly in the summer. We feel really lucky that this is our local. Highly recommend!

we called yesterday evening as a party of 6 and the service simply amazing. the atmosphere was brilliant and the outside is to die. the selection of gins is exceptional and knowing about the gins was just as good. we were then connected by another 3 people who arrived just as close to the kitchen, but they still found the time to serve them food. great pub, great eating, great staff and a great opportunity to celebrate William's last night in the hardpury college. Thank you for remembering it one night.
