"I reserved the 'Make a Night of it' package to celebrate my wife's birthday. Unfortunately, everything that could go wrong did go wrong. Upon arriving, the restaurant staff greeted us and seated us at our table after taking our names. We were given the menu and asked if we wanted drinks. I mentioned that we were supposed to receive a glass of champagne upon arrival as part of our package. Apologies were given and we were informed that we had been given the wrong menu. The correct menu had limited options, but we decided on the lamb dish and a bottle of red wine, only to be told that the lamb was unavailable. We inquired about mixing the menus, but were told it wasn't possible. The Restaurant Manager then offered a £35 allowance for us to choose from the a la carte menu. We agreed and ordered fillet steaks. The waitress brought our wine and struggled to open it, breaking the cork and returning to the bar. Another waiter eventually opened a new bottle for us. Unfortunately, our main course was full of fat and gristle, causing us not to eat it. The Restaurant Manager was apologetic and stated that we wouldn't be charged for the food, but we explained that the meal was part of our package. Despite the positive reviews, our experience was a disappointment, turning what was supposed to be a special occasion into a nightmare."

The staff was very attentive, the food was delicious, and our table was located in front of large clear windows with a beautiful view. Angela and the rest of the staff provided excellent service.

Lovely afternoon tea for 8 including a great gluten free option. Food was fab. Choice of nice coffees or tea including a lovely local earl grey tea. Very good service- attentive but not intrusive. Very nice location on the waterfront

The service at this restaurant was top-notch, especially from our server Nicole. The menu had a great selection of dishes to choose from. The atmosphere was very pleasant and the staff were all eager to assist. We were taken care of exceptionally well.

This was my first time at the River Grille. I enjoyed the piano although there were long breaks between songs. Staff were excellent, especially Nicole!! For my dinner I had duck which was palatable. Overall the atmosphere was pleasant and it was a good night

Such a lovely experience in this restaurant, the atmosphere here is very calm and intimate with the dim lighting. Our waitress was Angela, she was very polite and friendly, helped with anything and everything, I had a specific request which she made happen so thank you very much. Very enjoyable dinner with the lovely fresh and tasty food. It’s not our first time here and it definitely won’t be our last. Well done Angela for doing a great job, it’s really appreciated
