"My wife and I made a pit stop during our travels to the Cotswolds and decided to dine at Polly's, a restaurant we have frequented several times in the past. This time, we both thoroughly enjoyed our lunch which included a smoked salmon and crayfish toasted sandwich, ham, egg and chips, accompanied by a slice of lemon and elderflower ginger cake. We washed it all down with a pot of tea for two. The food was delicious and portions were generous. The only downside was that the restaurant seemed understaffed and service was not as attentive as we would have liked - for example, they didn't notice when we finished our main course or offer us dessert. Despite being on the pricier side, we still appreciate the experience and the high quality of the food at Polly's and will definitely return in the future."

the gluten-free lemon cake with mandeln flakes is absolutely beautiful! they have a very good choice of cake and a good menu. we'll go back there next time.

Old school tearoom experience with good food and service. The cakes are the stand out part of any trip here both in taste and the size of the slab that you're served. Needed a doggy bag to finish it at home

a nice lunch was outside. we enjoyed the ham, egg, chips and the cancer and salmon open sandwich. we ordered, we were decelerated from possible 15-20 minutes in ordering our foods as they were very busy, but it came in about 10 minutes. the staff was very polite and helpful. Voir le carte

tea room was busy, but it was jubliee weekend. my chocolate cake was delicious, but nabenbbies lemon whirlwind was dry. we had to pay in the shop on the way out as too busy staff, very trusting. because we had to wait for a worker to take the order. would be visiting if hopefully not so busy.

Sadly I think this cafe tea room is trading on its name and quality of food is poor Upon being seated had to ask for the table to be wiped down as very sticky from day before Bacon on stale white bread didn’t create a good first impression on our visit and was sent back so would not return to the Cafe Decaf latte was warm milk with no flavour waitressing team were pleasant and friendly and that’s the only positive I could find to say Very disappointed

The service at this restaurant is top-notch. We ordered the salmon and crayfish sandwich, as well as the avocado on toast. Unfortunately, the manager informed us that the salmon was out of stock and offered us two complimentary drinks as an apology for the wait. We chose gin. The avocado on toast was hands down the best I have ever had, and as a vegetarian, I have tried many. I will definitely be returning soon. The prices are very reasonable and the atmosphere is lovely. All of the staff we interacted with were enthusiastic and attentive. Voir le carte

Ordered tea and a ploughman’s sandwich. Tea was fine, waited long while for sandwiches to arrive. Two slices of thin low quality sliced bread, with a little amount of grated cheese and a blob of pickle. Served with a limp salad, two small pieces of tomato and 4 thin slices of cucumber. Dressing was soaked into the bread what there was of it! When l asked if l could have extra dressing the waitress said, ‘um, l dunno. Can get you some vinegar if you want’. The price for this sorry offering was extortionate when l mentioned this at the till the lady shrugged and said, ‘well, that’s the price of things these days’. Wondered what a foreign tourist would make of that classic example of an English...

This restaurant is absolutely terrible. Despite being packed, we wrongly assumed this was a good sign. I ordered two rubbery, cold crumpets with butter and cheap jam that wouldn't spread, costing nearly £5. Our total bill came to almost £20 for a cream tea and the crumpets. The coffee was scalding hot and the tea was barely warm. The people sitting behind us ordered the £10 sandwiches but only took one bite before leaving them, as their food looked terrible. When it was time to pay, I noticed the customer in front of me had their bill reduced by half due to the disappointing food. On the plus side, the service was good, all handled by young college or sixth form students as it was half term....

"We stayed here ten years ago and thought it was wonderful and worth every penny. We were so excited to return, but really Disapointed. The grounds are lovely and we were pleased with our room. The children loved the outdoor space and the pool What really let us down was the food and service. There was no luxury here. The family dining choices were poor. The children's meal was bad one had fish gougons and sweet potato fries which were very salty. The other two had pizza, the small was served as half a pizza, the large was a conventional round shape. Both were shop bought bases (cardboard) with grated Cheddar on the top. Something I would not feed them at home let alone expect in a supposedly high end dining. My husband's steak was chewy. My main, whole plaice with creamed potatoes, the potato was served in a ceramic dish and it was cold. It was taken away and then took ten minutes to return by which point I had eaten the fish. The food was incredibly expensive considering how poor the offerings were. The next day we ate a very late lunch in Bath so we would not have to eat at the hotel. The breakfast buffet area had some nice items but was really understocked and allowed to run to empty. The staff functioned but not at a steady rate, we found the service slow and the staff disinterested. Such a contrast to our previous visit. The person in charge we found sullen and felt as if our presence was an inconvenience. When we walked through to the dining areas we would hop out of the staff'so way for fear of being bulldozed. When we left the receptionist was polite but did not ask if we enjoyed our stay. A week later I had an email to complete a survey and nobody got in touch despite the same feedback as given here. Very dispointing. Lovely room and surroundings but poor food and poor attitude from staff. Last year we stayed in a hotel that cost 65% less than Wooley Grange and had a much better experience."
