Amazing food ,best chicken burger every ,steak pie , fish n chips where also fantastic .

Went for food with my family and was delighted with both the service from Luke and his colleagues and the quality, portions and price of his food. We will definitely return next time we’re in the area!

This was our first time of eating at the Pig and Whistle having enjoyed a drink there a couple of times. We were made welcome and shown to our table. The mains quickly followed the starters , we should have asked for a gap in between courses. The wine was enjoyable and we left feeling pleasantly full.

Excellent food and friendly efficient service. The Pig and Whistle has a lovely cosy atmosphere and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it for an evening out or just a simple meal. We booked online but unfortunately our booking hadn't filtered through to the pub. Despite this and despite it being very busy, a table was found for us and we were made very welcome. Voir le carte

We booked for a meal on Sat 29th July but the food was very disappointing. Myself and girlfriend both chose from the specials board so I had the goat curry and she chose the duck. The goat was very gristley although the meal itself tasted fine. My girlfriends duck was very chewy and hard to cut. We will be going back to cartmel but would only go back to the pig and whistle for a drink. I'll add that the service was good and the staff friendly so no complaints there.

We stopped in after we'd been out for a meal in Cartmel and were so pleased we did! First thing to say is that the pub is under new management and so I'd pay more attention to reviews in the last few weeks than any before their time. We met Dean, who has recently taken over the pub and lives there with his young family. Seems a really nice guy and hope it all works out for them based on our experience I'm sure it will. Nice atmosphere, decor etc. and good selection of food and drinks. If we'd been staying in Cartmel longer then we'd have come back for lunch but unfortunately we were leaving the next day.

WOW, what a great country pub. Had a meal at the Pig Whistle Cartmel) last week and it was fantastic, very tasty and well presented. Staff very attentive and could not do enough for you which made are visit one to remember. Bar full of locals which tells you the new owners Dean Stephanie and their staff are running a welcoming friendly pub. Lovely beer garden at the rear so you can sit in the sun and admire the fantastic views overlooking Cartmel and the surrounding country side. Booked in again this weekend and can't wait.
