Managed to fit us in last minute, as we had come up from south wales and everything about the place was stunning.

Beautiful warm setting in a friendly family run pub. The menu was fantastic and the pies are to die for, I highly recommend for a hearty meal.

Good food (excellent club sandwich), friendly service, very good value, and a great chat with a very knowledgeable local about football from 1950 onwards. It's just re-opened and already has a nice friendly feel. Good luck to them in the new venture.

Having read the reviews on this site, we decided to give this restaurant a try, and we are so glad we did. The food was delicious, the staff were very friendly, and the service was excellent. It was definitely worth the visit. Plus, our dog Bonnie even found a ball, so she was happy too.

I was pleasantly surprised to find the restaurant so peaceful, as both my dining partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The service was friendly and efficient, and the portion sizes were just right. We opted to dine outside, enjoying the pleasant atmosphere. The food had a homemade taste and I would definitely recommend this place.

We were keen to try the newly reopened Pax Inn for a meal with friends, and I 'm glad we did. The moules mariniere to start were lovely, and a generous portion. Followed by a delicious burger with all the trimmings and dirty fries with a masalla sauce which were first rate. The ambience will be better when it 's a bit busier, but I 'm pleased we walked up from Boston Spa to try it out.

We enjoyed a lovely Sunday lunch here and can’t fault the food or service. However, my rating comes because the pub cat spoilt my experience. It constantly tried jumping onto the chairs/bench and the table during our meal and then, I witnessed it licking the salt and pepper pots when it jumped onto an empty table and it also licked some cutlery in a pot on the table. This seems very unhygienic. Such a shame as the food was worth 5 stars.

We decided to try this restaurant based on a recommendation because of its new management. We visited for Sunday lunch and enjoyed the delicious food, particularly the generous portions of meat and fresh vegetables that were not overcooked. The homemade Yorkshire puddings were a nice touch. The only disappointment was the absence of cheesecake, which would have been a perfect dessert. Overall, the home cooked food was lovely and we definitely plan to return.

We called in on the off chance and were glad we did. We were in the middle of a walk and called in for a simple sandwich lunch. Sandwiches were delicious on very fresh bread. We had a BLT, a club sandwich and a vegetarian hummus and beetroot, all delicious. The chips are were also homemade, always a bonus. There was a good choice of main meals and specials so we will definitely call again, maybe for the Sunday lunch wich sounds good. Fresh, homemade food served with care and excellent value.
