"Second disappointing visit since moving to Climping. Having been shown to our pre-booked table we had to wait nearly 20 minutes for service and that was after approaching two serving staff and eventually having to leave my table to seek the lady that showed us to the table in the first place, having watched other dinners come well after us but get served first. Finally service arrived and drinks were brought to our table and we ordered our meals, the starters arrived fairly promptly and were reasonable. Our main meals arrived after another protracted wait, and to say I was disappointed in what was presented would be an understatement. The alleged 28 day aged rib if beef would appear to have been aged for much longer, it was tough and over-cooked, not withstanding the two tiny slices that were but on the plate. To be fair, the roast potatoes and the Guinness were fine, and our waitress apologized and said she would pass on my disappointment and comments. The manager who was floating around did not afford me the courtesy of his presence or any form of discount for the poor service and the wait and the rubbish roast beef. Second and last poor service visit to the Oyster Catcher, there are plenty of other food establishments like the superb lobster pot in Felpham which we can go to. Thanks but no thanks the oyster catcher, 2 strikes and you are out I'm afraid."

This restaurant is one of the worst places I have ever visited. The staff seemed disinterested, the food was cold, and the roast potatoes were the worst I have ever tasted. I have been twice and both experiences were equally disappointing. This place is not for us. Ugh.

Set just back from the road this is a beautiful pub surrounded by trees with tables and chairs so you can sit outside. Food is lovely and you get great service. Bit out of the way so you would possibly need to drive but its great for a nice quiet drink in a nice setting.

In mid-July we went with 2 friends, one with a lot of allergies...no problem there, they were very helpful We weren't in a mad rush as such, but we told them that we needed to be on the road as soon as we could The food was ok at best and soooo slow coming; and ven paying was a struggle...yet it wasn't that busy, certainly not as at previous visits I think we have given this place enough chances...not sure that it is really worth the effort Voir le carte

My daughter and her fiancé took us mothers out for Mother's Day lunch in 2023. We were all extremely disappointed with our experience. Every dish we received was cold, and despite our complaints after each course, the next one was no better. The staff claimed it was only our table experiencing the issue and only charged us for the drinks. I found even that to be unsatisfactory. They should have comped the entire meal. Our special day was completely ruined by the poor quality of the food and mismanagement. We will not be returning.

This place is big and serves food until 9pm I believe. The parking is good with a very large private car park and there is plenty of seating outdoors too for the fine weather. Good for families, like ours, and they do provide high chairs for babies (which is a nice touch for a pub! and the service is fast, a little too fast for the food to be freshly cooked, so a compromise methinks. My Sunday roast (veggie was filling if anything. but my other half was totally pleased with her Fish Pie. Average fare without any gastro touches more Aunt Bessie than Fat Duck.

Cocktails were terrible. Wine arrived in glasses that had lipstick on them. They charged an extra £3 for probably the smallest portion of dauphinoise potatoes (maybe 2 mouthfuls? I've ever seen, that I had requested instead of the chips and the deep fried onion fritter that was the usual accompaniment to what turned out to be a miniscule rump steak. The owners patently don't give a s**t about the food nor the service. It's also next to a noisy main road so eating outside ain't peaceful. DON'T BOTHER. Head to The George in Burpham or The Gravy Boat in Little Hampton instead both stunning. Voir le carte

Not a bad place this but a little bit off the beaten track so you have to drive which has it's obvious down-sides. The pub itself used to be a residential property that was owned by some middle eastern people but they left to go home during the first Gulf War leaving the property derelict for many years. Its a lovely looking building now and very friendly indeed. Nice and warm in the winter due to its open fire and there's plenty of room outside in the garden in the summer. Food is good pub grub, nothing out of the ordinary but does the job. Could do with a few Middle Eastern dishes to link up with the pub's history in my opinion.

The Oystercatcher is a cozy and quaint restaurant that is part of the same group as the Swallows Return in Goring. The building was renovated about 12 years ago and is well decorated inside with a lovely open fire. The staff we encountered were friendly and helpful, but unfortunately that was the highlight of our experience. We were disappointed when our meals arrived within a few minutes of ordering. The fish and chips were not as expected as they were full of bones and the chips were just average frozen chunky chips. The hunters chicken was also disappointing, with chicken filets that resembled old trainer insoles and poor quality bacon. The cheese was processed and the overall quality of...

"I myself and four friends booked a twighlight spa package that includes a two course dinner and glass fizz for Friday afternoon / evening. the spa is beautiful, although the dressing rooms are slightly dense for the room. after our treatment, which was excellent, but sad too short, we then moved to the hearthouse for cocktails and dinners that were wonderful! then we went back to my friend holiday home along the beach that our car in the hotel for the night we had preordered for the pickup the next day. one of the girls realized that they had left their jacket in the hotel after we had picked up the car the next day, so we decided to book Sunday dinner in the restaurant as we were so impressed, but when we arrived for our 12.00 table, it was not finished (our mistake was completely as we were five minutes early) the lady/maitre d was with us huge grumpy and very grumpy to go with us. we never saw the dame again (thanks quality) a beautiful young chap saw us sitting in the lounge and came by with menus, then brought us through our table. the menu was almost the same as the Friday night menu apart from adding a few frying options. our appetizers were excellent, but unfortunately the frying was very disappointing, the gravur was extremely watery and the meal total was bland. the reason why I didn't evaluate a total of five stars was because of our Sunday lunch experience. we will use the spa again!"
