"Not a bad place this but a little bit off the beaten track so you have to drive which has it's obvious down-sides. The pub itself used to be a residential property that was owned by some middle eastern people but they left to go home during the first Gulf War leaving the property derelict for many years. Its a lovely looking building now and very friendly indeed. Nice and warm in the winter due to its open fire and there's plenty of room outside in the garden in the summer. Food is good pub grub, nothing out of the ordinary but does the job. Could do with a few Middle Eastern dishes to link up with the pub's history in my opinion."

Staff always friendly, never any delays, no complaints with food. Portion sizes are huge! Lovely atmosphere, I usually go in quiet periods, it's great, thank you

I ordered Chicken New Yorker, but was disappointed that there were only chips and cherry tomatoes accompanying the meal, peas or any other vegetables were an extra.

Just to let you know I will not be using OpenTable again. On the two occasions I have used you both restaurants didn’t have our booking!!! It was only because the staff were so accommodating that we managed to get a table! Not impressed!!!

Our meal was fine, but having booked through Open Table and received email confirmation of the same, a concern on arrival on time was that the establishment didn 't appear to have a booking in my name and thus on the bill we were described as 'walk in '.

This restaurant is one of the worst places I have ever visited. The staff seemed disinterested, the food was cold, and the roast potatoes were the worst I have ever tasted. I have been twice and both experiences were equally disappointing. This place is not for us. Ugh.

When we arrived at the oystercatcher they had no notification or knowledge of our booking. When I showed them your e mail confirmation they said that this situation was happening frequently. They did find us a table but service was extremely slow, for which they continually apologised for. I am unlikely to use your booking service again

"Appalling customer service and a total lack of respect for the customers! I phoned G&G 13.20 to ensure they were open and still serving food. I was categorically told that if I placed my order by 13.45 we would be served. We arrived approximately 5 minutes later to be told the kitchen had closed. There was no shortage of food or staff, I made the point that I had been promised to be served but no explanation was given. I asked to speak to the manager who, again, couldn’t explain why they had broken their commitment to me. I asked what was the problem/constraint? The ‘manager’ merely said “ there is no need to be rude “ . I asked to clarify how she could accuse me of being rude? She couldn’t think of anything to say apart from “the kitchen is closed”. I said I was very dissatisfied and would reflect this in a review, they were not bothered and said that it wouldn’t impact them as they had been doing ok for the last 5 years. Absolutely appalling and disgraceful in my opinion. I actively search out small local businesses and try to support them, this establishment deserves no support whatsoever. It is interesting that the staff were prepared to spend more time arguing with me than it would have taken them to make us a sandwich! BTW the noticeboard stated closing 3 o’clock. A beautiful sunny bank holiday with many potential customers, why not stop serving early and go home! A strange business model!!! We went to Bluebird café and had great food with fantastic customer service despite the significant number of customers."
