"I was there for Christmas lunch and dinner 2015. Despite being extremely busy, everyone acted extremely professionally nonetheless. I am myself an experienced chef, a professional waiter and an international certified cocktail bartender. I also ran my own business for a while. I can ensure everyone reading this that it has been a long time since I have seen a restaurant managed with so much efficiency and professionalism. It made me feel like there still was some hope in an industry losing its focus and standards... Thank you so much Alessandra for serving me with your beautiful smile and the attention of every moment. Thank you to the owner for presenting me all the dishes with impeccable etiquette and relevant informations. Thanks to the kitchen team who prepared and cooked everything to near perfection. Brilliant job everyone!"

Went for Sunday Roast, it was fantastic. The Yorkies are quite something to behold! Proper roast potato's too! Dogs welcome

Popped in for a coffee mid to later afternoon which was OK whilst waiting in between locally, did not get chance for anything to eat.

This is a good location in the town, but not a place to come by car in though. The Food is very good, but it is let down by Food Choice on the Lunchtime Menu. Voir le carte

I had a fantastic breakfast at this restaurant. The service was excellent and the prices were very reasonable. I definitely plan on coming back. The atmosphere was cozy and the Covid safety measures were well implemented.

Oh my goodness, I haven't tasted pies like this in a long time! I need to order some to freeze because they are absolutely delicious and very tasty. I tried the tikka, meat and potato pies and now I want to try them all. Thank you, Sarah! xxx Voir le carte

I have been visiting this cafe frequently recently because they offer a wide variety of options. They have a soup of the day and a large selection of baguettes and sandwiches where you can choose your own fillings. In addition to sandwiches, they also have hearty meal options such as mac and cheese, scampi and chips, and daily specials. I highly recommend this cafe as a place to dine in or grab some food to go during your lunch break. It is a popular spot for locals, but they serve the food quickly even when busy.

We chose the chesfs tasting menu and a bottle of montepulciano. Was about 7 courses. Was absolutely delightful. My regret was eating too much bread with the hummus and aubergine dips at the start because I was so full by the time dessert came. Think they could do slightly smaller portions so you don't leave feeling so full. We had to have a coffee before we left (really good coffee too! My husband and I are big eaters and we were extremely full. The staff were very attentive, nice ambience. We sat outside on a sunny day. The rissoto was the best I've ever had.

"My mother and I had been following the Masterchef Pro comp ' last year and were really keen to sample some of the winner, Tom Hamblet 's, food. We travelled a 4 hour round trip for the experience. We don 't eat at fine dining restaurants often but we are foodies. Firstly, the setting of the restaurant is very lavish and comfortable with warm low lighting. That said, the dinner experience was a little too dark for my mother so that 's something to think about if you struggle with eyesight and low lighting. The service was friendly, attentive and speedy/efficient. The food: I 'll start with the dessert because that was a real pleasure for us. We both loved the flavours of Tom 's end of series winning dessert so the meal ended on a high (we ordered the Olive Oil sponge with lemon curd). I recommend not ruining your palette with the overly sweet petit four that are placed in front of you following dessert unfortunately ours were more sugar flavoured than any other identifiable flavour. Our starters and mains were very VERY underwhelming. They arrived looking beautiful, neat and tidy but failed to deliver on taste. I had wanted the celeriac themed starter but the waiting staff told me the vegan/veggie starters and mains were created by their head chef and not Tom. That was disappointing as his 3 month residency was the reason we 'd visited the restaurant. We ended up both having the lobster starters after the waiting staff recommended it highly as either a starter or an additional dish to share. The claw meat was minimal and tough and the foam mousse took centre stage on the plate. Whilst the plate had lots of textures to it, we felt it was unbalanced and generally with no 'wow ' to it. We enjoyed the coffee and rye bread with butter and pollen/fennel that came prior to this thought. I ordered the Guinea Fowl as a main after the waiter described it as a gamey, dark and tender meat. I feel like a better description to someone that hasn 't had guinea fowl before would be 'it 's like a chicken breast with a different flavour '. This is what arrived in front of me and I actually found it was quite dry and not dark at all! I would never have ordered anything that resembled chicken breast anyway so I felt ill informed about my choice. I also thought the girolles were overwhelmingly tart. I didn 't enjoy my main. Mum 's Hogget was nice but average for her too. Last comment I 've never in my life paid £6.50 for less than 1.5ltrs mineral water beware! I don 't care how much money you have it 's water!!!"

"Service: 11/10 Starter: Calamari Duck Parfait - 10/10 Main Course 1: 50-Day Aged Fillet Mignon with Bordelaise Sauce (cooked *Blue*) - 100/10 Main Course 2: Fish and Chips - 9/10 Dessert: Hot Brownie - Over 9000! I want to extend my thanks to the front-of-house team for their warm welcome. Although we arrived a bit late, they were incredibly accommodating. Special thanks to Irvana (I hope I spelled that correctly) for providing excellent service! My steak experience took me on a nostalgic journey—like Anton Ego savoring his ratatouille in Gusto’s restaurant. It reminded me of a family meal in Holland during my childhood, where I had my first real steak. This may have even surpassed that memory! I was initially hesitant about dining at Miller and Carter since it's a chain restaurant, but if you're feeling the same way, let me assure you: don't be. While it may not be the cheapest option, it definitely deserves a smart-casual dress code that anyone who understands proper dining etiquette should respect. Curious, I browsed through other reviews, and I found it hard to believe anyone could leave a 1-star review without sounding like a “Karen.” It’s important to take reviews with a grain of salt—this is truly a fantastic restaurant! In summary, if you're a fan of steak, this place will take great care of you and provide excellent recommendations for how to enjoy your meal just the way you like it. Perfect!"
