"Stopped here to escape the awful raing weather and grab some lunch. We we're in desperate need or something to drink and eat and stopped in exeter on our way down from portsmouth to Newton abbott. We were greated pleasantly and shown a table. The waitress also informed us of the ordering process folling covid guindlines. We ordwred our drinks and food easily and it arrived im good time. The coffee machime was playing up and we were informed there would be a slight delay. We were given glassess of water whilst waiting which was most appreciated. Our food arrived seperstly and considering i paid £6 for a toasty i would have expected a bit more then just two slices of thin bread with ham on top placed on a side plate. My omelette was also very runny and a bit under cooked. The size was perfect and the salad alongside was lovely. Our coffees were extremely nice although the tide was clearly out as we recieved half a cup and had to ask for a top up. Wouldn't return but that is becuase we live so far away and only come down once a year. I would recommend however as this place seems to be up and coming. Decor was very bright and cheery but could do with a clean as our seats were sticky and floor was a mess."

This is a little gem! The food is well priced with lovely sized portions and the staff are always friendly and accommodating! The only thing I will say is that some of the tables are very close together.

We have been to this restaurant several times and have always had a fantastic experience. We usually opt for breakfast or brunch, and the food is consistently of high quality. The service is excellent and very welcoming. Voir le carte

Called into the little orange cafe for breakfast after having such a rubbish meal in Wetherspoons. The service was excellent. When the food came it was well presented and everything was freshly cooked and a reasonable price. Highly recommend you visiting if in the area. Won't be disappointed. Thank you

I stopped by for breakfast and was greeted by a delightful lady working alone in the early morning, yet she was still very cheerful. Breakfast was delicious and there was a wide variety of options on the menu. I returned later for tea and coffee and the staff were still very cheerful. I recommend skipping the chain restaurants and supporting independent places instead. Voir le carte

I ordered from this restaurant through Deliveroo. The food was delicious and arrived hot. We ordered two full breakfasts and an omelette, as well as a milkshake and ice cream, all of which were very enjoyable. The prices for the food were really good. My only suggestion would be to pack the beans on the breakfast separately, as they had spilled and covered everything during transport. It's a minor issue that wouldn't stop me from ordering again, which I plan to do soon.

Visited for the first time for breakfast with friends last Saturday after going for breakfast at a nearby place for a number of years with the same friends before afternoon football. We will all certainly be going back. This is a proper cafe. Nothing fancy or ostentatious, just nice, with great food, excellent competitive prices and warm friendly service. A wide and very varied menu too. I don't think the Cafe has been in business for that long a time but, on this experience, they will (and should) do very well and be very successful. It's well worth supporting a small business like this as opposed to expensive national chains or cafes/restaurants that are all show and no substance. Loved it...

"Owner rude and arrogant! And you can’t trust them and they won’t make your order right by just saying too busy to make it right! I called in to make a booking but told no tables available but I could place an order for takeaway so I ordered two gluten free pizzas. I also asked what size are the gluten free pizza crust and was told 11”. I was told I would need to wait 1 hour 30 minutes and I agreed. I ordered the Gluten free 11 “ crust as advised for one Olive Tree and one Garlicky . When I arrived, I asked the person with the pizzas to confirm the gluten free pizzas. She looked a bit worried and said they were not gluten free. I asked the other girl if I would have to wait another 1.5 hrs and she said they would expedite my pizzas. The owner came over and said he had two vegan pizzas for 8:30 pm and I said that is not what I ordered. He said he was too busy to remake the pizzas. He said the girl that took the order said she didn’t remember gluten free was ordered. As a Celiac , those are the first words out of my mouth when I order any food and I also inquired the size of the gluten free crust and frequently they are pre-made and sealed and I was told they are 11”. He would not remake the pizzas as he said he has to trust his staff. So he implies the customer are lying and uses it as an excuse to not make it right. It doesn’t excuse not remaking the pizzas correctly as ordered gluten free as I was told a few minutes earlier. I assured him I ordered both pizzas gluten free and my wife came in and also confirmed as she heard me place the order on the phone. I realize this pizza must be well done and popular but not to remake the pizzas and imply me a liar and refusing to remake them is unprofessional. I find his behavior arrogant, rude and unprofessional and just because he went to Italy to learn how to make pizza doesn’t make him a good owner and manager. Hopefully, he won’t blow off this review but learn from it. Always make it right for your customers! And never insult your customers! It also suggest he doesn’t care about his customers because he is too busy. He walks away and just repeats he has to trust his employees. Poor excuse for not making the pizzas as ordered! Employees can make mistakes and as a Coeliac I will also double check as I did when I came to pick up the pizzas. I would advise Coeliacs to not try these pizzas as you can’t trust them to make them to your order. Peace be with you! Dietary restrictions You cannot trust this place to make your gluten free as ordered and they won’t remake it if they made it wrong and just say I have to trust my staff. Very Poor attitude from an owner and a bit arrogant! Customers don’t appear to be important and must be lying if they get an order wrong."
