"Was really looking forward to this but it was possibly the most disapointing Michelin star 'experience ' I 've ever had. We visited on Boxing Day before a flight to warmer climes from Heathrow that evening. The pub itself is lovely and obviously has history. The welcome was friendly but a bit ott for a pub. We ate from the Christmas menu and all opted for Turkey dinners. The food was good but was exactly as described and nothing more, a reasonably well cooked roast turkey dinner with nothing particularly special about it. Indeed I have had home made roasts which were just as good. The cost for three roast dinners, two pints of decent enough beer and a coke was close to £150. Perhaps I expected too much (with this being a Heston Blumenthal owned pub with a Michelin star that I am mystified how it received) but I left feeling a bit deflated and slightly ripped off."

Fabulous really good food, great service and a really nice atmosphere. We came here for a Birthday celebration and it was perfect. Yes itâs not cheap, but I actually thought it was really good value. For of us, with courses each, a bottle of champagne and bottles of wine it was just over I donât think you could get much better anywhere else.

We had lunch here for our birthday and honestly it was PERFECT. We were so well sought by the beautiful staff, the menu choices were great and the food was simply amazing. We had sourdough, devils on horse back, tomato salad, pork chop and my wife had the quaking pudding while I had the pineapple cake. Every ingredient of each meal was so well thought out and delivered. We'll never forget how good it was!
