I don’tknow if this place is any good. After 15 minutes waiting at the bar, only 1 person got served by the 2 staff. The 1 ‘serving’ then left 6 of us waiting and went outside to wipe down tables. Rude, surly, we up and left.

Booked this hotel from recommendation from our hotel.Seated in a make shift working mans club, ordered fish and chips extra bread and butter.Fish was a Aldi oven fresh one‍Bread never came.I’m not a snob, but really a seaside resort bar serving that, really come on.Won’t be going again, rather go to Iceland and cook my own. Called in for food and a drink. Yesterday had steak special. Really good well presented and enjoyable meal. Good service. Call again today had liver with onion gravy chips peas ,lovely once again. Good service . Now the pub as turned around and Hopefully locals will support and make it a success once was. Prices were competitive and has nice atmosphere. Will call in again next time I am in Scarborough.

I’m a local here and The Highlander has now been blessed with new management. We have been in a number of times over the last couple of months and Angie, Eugene and their assistant bar manager, Luke, are really welcoming. They are working really hard and from what we can see, are bringing the Highlander up many levels. The food has also greatly improved. Looking forward to coming back in, and we will definitely be recommending to friends.

When we arrived at this hotel for a 3 night stay, we where told we were on the third floor and our friends were on the second floor. We where told the lift was broke. 59 stairs we had to climb, my husband is waiting for a new hip and I have a bulging disc in my back. We were told they were waiting for them to come to repair the lift. The room had a double bed and 2 single beds of which none where comfy. The windows didn't have safety catches. Which wasn't good as we got the impression it was a family room.The bar and food was faultless and staff where brilliant. This hotel really does need updating. Next time we visit Scarborough we will call for a drink but not to stay. Voir le carte
