"We have been here over 30 times but since lockdown ended it has gone downhill, we were told the owner has taken up fostering and let her son try to manage things.......................... Each time we have been the service has gone downhill until tonight we decided to speak out and were met with the worst customer service possible. You walk in and get shown to a table, then the a staff disappear, no drinks nothing. Fiftenn minutes later I asked of we could have a drink, I 'll get someone to take your order was the response...........................no sorry you take our order !!! Drinks come so we decide to order our food, chicken and fish so not difficult, an hour later, no food....................we order another drinks, guess what 10 minute wait, Drinks come, food comes, now the food is spot on, everything as it should be. Staff disappear again, not one person asks whether everything is ok. Staff are bust wiping tables so we wait again, food plates are taken away, again we are ignored. Fifteen minutes later no mention of a desert, my wife gets fed up and asks to see a desert menu. It 's over there !!! gestures at a faded chalk written blackboard which we can hardly read. We ait and wait and wait......................no sign of either waiter or manager, the waiter walks straight past us several times. We decide to give up on desert, no sign of anyone now so we ask for the bill, bill arrives, same person who we asked about deserts, so decide to have a word. Young manager, oh I 've been busy, here 's your bill you can pay by contactless. No mention of our deserts or anything off the bill just that he 's busy and the staff are new and untrained, sorry the same waitress has worked there since lockdown ended. No customer skills whatsoever, let me get you the desert, have a drink or I 'll knock you something off the bill. Chef appears. I go and compliment him on the food, he asks me what 's gone on so I tell him, ok well it 's hard to get staff.................. Sorry no that 's it, your quiet little restaurant has just lost two loyal customers who come in every few weeks for a nice meal out !!!! I do hope the lady owner gets to read this because if you let this carry on trust me you won 't have a business !!!!"

The food at this restaurant is excellent, and the service was great even though we stopped by at the last minute. The three-course fixed price menu was a fantastic deal, with each dish being well-prepared, cooked, and presented beautifully.

My partner and I visited the Grill for a pre-theatre dinner and were impressed with the food and service. The baked camembert was particularly scrumptious but every course was tasty and well presented. The restaurant itself is stylish and elegant and the ladies' room is immaculate. Would certainly recommend.

I went for the lunch special which included a drink for only five pounds. It was absolutely fantastic. I had a hot pork, stuffing, and apple sauce sandwich with gravy for dipping. The place was lovely, the staff were friendly, and overall it was unbeatable for the price. I will definitely be going back often. Voir le carte

Love this restaurant, Karl, Sue Reiss all make you feel so welcome. Had a table of 8 yesterday for a birthday celebration, all the dishes were fantastic as usual. 2 of the party had the king prawn risotto, which they couldn’t stop praising…they said it was exceptional. Love the Jack Rabbit house wine. Can highly recommend, we have never been disappointed.

I visited this restaurant twice within a two-week period. The first visit was for a divorce party with 30-40 people, where we enjoyed excellent food and drink, as well as entertainment in the form of belly dancing and a singer provided by the person getting divorced. The tapas was very good with plenty of choice, and the staff were brilliant and helpful. The second visit was a meal for 5 of us, where we all enjoyed great food at a good price and quality. The only downside was the cost of drinks, but we will definitely be returning soon and I highly recommend this place.

We love The Grill at Number 20 and visit the restaurant regularly. Well today we went for the £5 lunch with a drink and it was fantastic. I had the pepperoni pizza with a glass of wine and my hubby had a pork and stuffing sandwich with a pint of pale Ale. Where can you get that for a fiver!!!! My pizza was enormous and delicious and the sandwich was gorgeous too with gravy to dip it in. My hubby was well impressed. We ordered a side of loaded fries and a dessert each and each one of these was only £2. Such excellent value.. Karl and Sue who own it are lovely people and the staff are excellent. Don't know if this restaurant has changed hands was so looking forward to eating there after lockdown, a party of 6 on Saturday night went for meal only another couple of tables in maybe a sign, 1st the order for starters taken one person had to wait as order was wrong, ok this can happen but no apology given, now main meal not one person out of the party enjoyed, I ordered skinny fries with my meal oh my the first one just tasted of oil being a ex chef I knew they been cooked in oil not hot enough, the cocky young waiter came over with attitude can you tell me what was wrong when I did he said oh well customer always right obviously not believing me, all I can say is not one person in our p...

We love this gorgeous restaurant and ate there yesterday, as it’s now open again following Lockdown. The food was delicious as usual. I had a beautifully cooked haddock fishcake with a tuna Niçoise salad to follow and the husband had bbq ribs that literally fell off the bone and a beef roast dinner with the best roast potatoes ever and a spring onion mash that was buttery and oniony and scrumptious. As I had been so good I had a strawberry Eton mess and the hubby had a chocolate brownie and cream. The food is all homemade and so so delicious.
