"Having dined here frequently, I knew what to expect. Or so I thought. It took 45 minutes for the main courses to arrive (our only course), which were look warm at best. Then after ordering pudding and waiting over half an hour for it to arrive (it never did) it was easier just to cancel it and cut our losses. The coffee was cold and still no sight of a simple sticky toffee and ice cream. Our server was lovely and advised he would see what his manager could offer us due to our inconvenience, but alas all they could offer was to take the price of the pudding off the bill (which we never even got and an apology. Then had the cheek to add a 10% service charge!! Highly disappointed as for over £80 at a 5* hotel I expected better. There was no such compassion offering even a couple of drinks for free, which any other restaurant would have done if not more. We weren’t the only ones to complain, in fact it seemed as if every diner today had something to say about their meals afternoon tea. Definitely left a sour taste in my mouth at having forked out something that for a fraction of the price could have had a three course lunch at another hotel close by and it would have been far superior. I have serious doubts as to whether we will return."

Afternoon tea at Trump Turnberry was absolutely amazing! The food was divine and service exceptional, whilst enjoying gorgeous views. Would highly recommend it!

Waitress showed us to the table, tea trolley came with our tea then had to wait 30 minutes for the food. We had to ask for hot water for to heat our tea up. Staff very nice.

The waiter spilled coke over my shirt and jacket but he did bring a fresh coke! A large cesar salad was ordered but only a small one arrived. A larger one came afterwards but was missing the pancetta. Staff weretotally indifferent

This was a Mother’s Day treat for my mum, she had a terrible day 20min wait between food, terrible service and then a hair in the jam! Only offered a drink as an apology which she refused as she had wasted enough time and wanted to go home, really disappointed

sat on Saturday for the afternoon tee and had a great experience. eating was nice, more exciting than a regular afternoon, and a lot of it. we had a warm welcome when we arrived and a great service in all areas. all above by a window seat with a view over ailsa craig. loved and will surely be back!

we would recommend turnberry hotel for afternoon tea. my mother and I have celebrated their 80th birthday. we received a very warm and friendly reception from any employee we met. the food and drinks were beautifully presented and by a very high standard. knowing and the love for detail was very impressive. it was a beautiful experience. many thanks and well done to all employees!

we were at turnberry several times and always really loved it. this time, the service was not scratching, and I put this on a lack of personal inestimacy. we were not in the main border tearoom as it was very busy and so we were in the restaurant where it was a worker to take the orders and serve the tees for afternoon tea. anyone who would always serve another member of the staff and help this poor young one who tried to serve his best to evryone as this restaurant was full. I would say the administration must make sure that there are enough personal or people not coming back!
