The Gourmet Burger Kitchen Notting Hill

Notting Hill branch used to be excellent but has gone downhill dramatically recently greasy mess of burgers they say they use dry aged beef I dont think so!

We were visiting Portobello Market and found this place when we grew hungry. We each had a Cheeseburger Lunch which was very good. They have good pricing and best of all: it's the first place in London i but my burger medium.

Honestly, first visit in your chain, really surprised! Very good food, quantity was enough. The facilities are great for kids. Only bad mark. The service was not smilly and not really warm neither tough... I will anyway recommend this address ;

A good solution for someone satisfy his/her hunger without spending much money. It's a good choice, with plenty of delicious burgers and tasty onion rings too. The only odd thing was that in the menu list refferred draught beer but there wasn't that choice, so I took a simple beer instead.

As title said, everything as standard requirements. I supposed to order to the waiter as almost restaurant in the world but after you know what you want you have to go to the till and order by yourself. The girl by the till knew nothing about the menu and for all my questions she asked the manager in charge. Btw everything was nice. Quality/price good!

I ordered a regular cheeseburger medium well. The burger was tasty, well seasoned and cooked perfectly to my liking. I got the skinny fries which had great potential but I thought were a bit under done. I like my fries crispy and these could have used some more time in the fryer. Overall a good burger and filling lunch. With the cheeseburger, fries and a diet cola my total was £14.05.

My boyfriend and I wanted to try the food for a while so decided to finally enter the restaurant. We were not greeted with 'hello ', just 'table for two? ' which was rude. We ordered our burgers from the lunch menu, and the bill came to approx £19, which for what it was, was overpriced. As shown in the pictures, the 'skinny fries ' were so 'skinny ' that they had no potato in them, and the chunky fries were near enough all batter, and there were hardly any of them! I ordered the chicken burger and I have attached a picture to show the so called salad in it one piece of onion! Really unimpressed with the service and the food overall. Will not be returning.

heard alot about GBK's so decided to grab lunch here on a decent saturday with the family at Portobello .. tables unclean and disinterested staff .. got 2 wrong orders so no-one ate at the same time .. burgers really dry and mean looking .. totally unlike the juicy image .. the fries were the only decent things in our order .. really sad and unsatisfied with our meal and when relayed this to the staff got shrugged off .. there where 8 of us squished in to 2 small tables and none of us would have minded this if there was great food and a nice vibe with decent service .. got none of this !! .. would never recommend this place to anyone and after seeing the other reviews am surprised they are s...

Went there yesterday with my wife for dinner. I 've been to some of their other outlets as well. Although I 've found their burgers to be good but I do struggle to understand what 's really gourmet about them. Does anything above Mcdonalds/Burger King qualify as gourmet? The service, while not terrible, is just about par for the course. The staff look on the job but hardly make an effort to please. And why should a gourmet place make its customers order at the till?
