I like it...has great potential, needs live bands playing Celtic music...bar folk are friendly and chatty and the surrounding furniture and fittings could really come alive with folk music. Good Guinness on tap...

Service was fine. Though doesn't celebrate birthdays of clientele. That's fine. Just won't celebrate a birthday here again. It's nothing to give 1 beer to the birthday person in a group of 8. The other 7 will go elsewhere for their birthdays :

Great place! Good music and smiling, attentive staff. We were three people going out together sitting in the smoking area, and it was no problem for me who doesn't smoke. We liked the surroundings and thought it was nothing like grandmothers living room said by others.

There aren't many pubs in Vienna, especially with long working hours after midnight during the week. The golden harp offers everything you'd expect from a pub until 2am in an authentic Irish setting with attentive staff. The fifth star in my review is for the extras, whether that's the ballroom, sports bar setting, the live music events or the breakfast menu. Having had a full Irish Bfst after my grocery shopping at Rochusmarkt made my day!

When you sit in the non-smoking room it feels like you are being punished for bad behavior. There was no music there and the waitress only comes by ever so often. The furniture is musty and it looks more like grandma's living room than a hip Irish pub. And to get there you have to walk through the long corridor of the smoking section making you feel like you smoked a pack yourself by the time you finally get to the relieving non-smoking area. The withe wine spritzer is reasonably priced at just over EUR3. I personally didn't eat buy my friend said the burger was below average. I have been here several times and I'm sure I'll come back. I like the interior, it's full of nice details and the high ceilings are amazing. If it's packed, the smoking area is too smoky for me, but there is a big non-smoking area as well. Food and drinks are good, the amount of the servings is decent and they do have a changing daily menu. Service is great. When I first experienced the Golden Harp at a large party for the American Presidential election, the entire upstairs was non-smoking. The food was decent and the service incredibly nice. I hosted a party there myself recently and the entire upstairs, excluding a tiny back room where they put my party, plus the enitre downstairs was smoking only. The place was packed, but nobody could enjoy the taste of the drinks or food because of the smells and atmosphere. The tiny back room for non-smoking is next to the kitchen and smells like the grill and fryer. You can't hear any of the live entertainment and you totally feel like an outcast, or stuck at the kiddie table. We even had to open the wind...
