"Decided to give this place another chance after a previous poor meal but others have recommended it. Booked a festive menu for Christmas Eve and paid a deposit. Upon arrival (early afternoon and the restaurant was empty) we were told they had run out of...festive menu, and we should have reserved one with a deposit. I explained that I had paid a deposit but was then told this had not reserved the festive menu? Decided to make the most of it as we were very unlikely to get in anywhere else at this late stage. However, the first dishes we tried to order they had run out of. Wanted to go out for a roast dinner, ended up having a (not very good) steak (without any sauce as they had run out of that too… When my steak arrived, it clearly hadn’t been rested, as my plate was swimming in blood. However the steak was also cold, so I have no idea how they managed to serve a cold steak which hadn’t been rested? The lady who served us was extremely apologetic, but I must admit that despite her best efforts, we will not be back."

We had a wonderful evening meal at this restaurant. One of us ordered the chicken burger, another had the beef burger, and the third had the chicken salad. The food was very good, hot, tasty, and a great value for the price. The staff were friendly, and the place was lovely and clean.

The George at Bilton offers fantastic home-cooked food with generous portion sizes at the most affordable prices. a small family meeting for a birthday party; the george arranged a semi-private alkove for us, laid a banner and balloons that we threw down earlier on the day and our cake on a page ready to light up and candle. bring it to the right time. we had a very nice evening with wonderful food and fantastic, friendly and helpful service. in any case a place to visit again.

simply enjoy an early Mother's Day meal in the Georgian on Saturday evening. booked online in advance, which was simply efficient. the pub had a charming friendly atmosphere and it was nice not to go to the city or to the country to find somewhere good to eat. our server ellen was friendly and the traditional pub grub was delicious and generous. we recommend the george!

Visited at Friday lunchtime. Booked a table as there were five of us. It was nicely busy a bit of a buzz but not jam packed. We were nicely welcomed and shown to our table. There was lots of choice for food and drink....As one of us had an allergy to sweetener they were really careful to check the drinks for that. Food was very tasty, well cooked and the bill very reasonable. Service was attentive and friendly. Hope to visit again soon.
